Ridiculous!
There was zero chance of winning a SB with the qbs he picked to lead us. It was doomed from the start.

His bus driver qb BS was a complete joke. His 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense was laughable.

He was a monumental let down from what we thought we were getting. We got the outdated version.

There was no LT to save Bills @zz.

I still remember when Parcells called Terry Glenn she in New England lol, that was classic.
He did say that when at the Patriots, but Glenn was a player Parcells was very fond of and an elite talent

Very few coaches have led two different teams to Super Bowl victories, so it's an uphill climb. I don't think it's fair to McCarthy not to acknowledge that. I just want to see progress this year. If he can get us to the NFC championship this year, then he deserves another year to try to get the job done. If he doesn't, then I prefer to give someone else a shot.

That's not anything against McCarthy. I just learned while Garrett was here that almost all Super Bowl coaches (especially in the salary cap age) win a Super Bowl in their first five years with a new team. That means he has through 2024, but if he doesn't make progress this year, I'd be in favor of giving Quinn a shot.

The fact that McCarthy has put together back-to-back playoff seasons shows he's a quality coach IMO, but I don't want to possibly spend years spinning our wheels like we did under Garrett.

I understand that. When I said that this team should win a Lombardi (obviously, I would love for us to win it with him), I meant that, after he leaves, we should have at least one Lombardi in us, just as how Parcells set this team up in a way to where we should have won at least one. That being said, I do think Mike can win one for us while he is here. He's been building a powerhouse. The team has gotten better every year. The team has serious depth that would start on most other teams. I'm excited with what he's built.

He was trying to build something and did what he could with what was available. He built a team that should have won multiple Superbowls after he retired

Parcells was night and day above any coach after Jimmy and any coach since he left in 2006
He sucked like all the rest. Quincy Carter? Lol

He was handed the keys and a clean salary cap slate and fell woefully short. Then he quit.

MM i agree. Parcells was a joke.

Campo was strapped with salary cap nightmare and jerry handpicking players and blowing it. He had no chance for success.
But that goes to what I said. Both came in when Jerry was lost. Jerry was lost after Switzer left. Parcells helped Jerry figure out what to do. Then, Jerry went back to bad habits leading to us ending up with Garrett. Mike has come in, and I think Jerry has figured out now what he's been missing since Jimmy. I just hope Jerry can keep his ego in check.

Bwaaaaa!!!!

Multiple SBs?

He quit the moment he finally had a good qb. Who he let rot on the bench for 4 years while he played a bunch of losers.

Exactly, and Mike has done that now with a team that was under Garrett for a long time. They both had an uphill climb with what they had to work with. Look where the Cowboys are now.

Your depression isn't caused by anything physical. I suggest you root for another pro sports team.

True dat. While Campo was handed one of the worse situations I think any coach has ever had to deal with, to even suggest that he was on the level of Parcells is why other fans hate Cowboys fans so much.

Tbf, Romo wouldn't have done well if he started in his first two seasons. He was undrafted and raw coming out of a small school. It helped that Romo had Testaverde (who Romo has credited with helping his development) and Payton to help develop him. He may have been able to start in 2005, but definitely not before that.

Another myth that gets reported- Jerry and Parcells did not get on. They had very good working relationship and did not fall out, although Jerry undoubtedly got frustrated

The salary cap issue was Jerry's fault. We're talking about a Jerry who'd passed up on Randy Moss, traded for Joey Galloway, and had contracts out the wazoo that we were paying for a long time later. This was a Jerry that had no idea how the salary cap worked. The fact that Parcells took a 3 time 5-11 team and turned them into a playoff team a year later was remarkable.
