Bill Parcells on Mike & Mike... Cancelled

I have no idea what was being discussed.
Glad we're square.

Gawd, sounds like Tony just hated playing for mean old Parcells. Man, Tony's a really good liar. He'll even go read books and ask you questions about old coaches in his free time just to make you believe that he likes you.
:laugh2:

"I told him to Google up the name of a guy whose star burned real brightly for a short time in this league," says Parcells, declining to specify the flash in the pan. "I give him a homework assignment, then he has to come back and tell me about the guy, who it was, what happened."

Given that Parcells proudly describes himself as a Neanderthal, Romo says his reaction was, "You've worked on a computer before?"

Yet another example of a player "walking on eggshells" around mean old, grumpy Parcells.

You mean guys are never witty around their bosses, even bosses they hate? Tony Romo is a rather care-free guy, and a guy who takes things in stride. He acts like that with everybody. And your trying to prove a point about whether he 'likes' Parcells or not?

I'm guessing he was telling some sort of lie, there. I'll let you know when I figure out what it was.

"That's a celebrity coach, right there."

I know it may be hard for you geniuses to comprehend, but let me break it down to you:

Noitce how the 'walking on eggshells' comments were made after Parcells left, not while he was coaching the Cowboys... You know, when the players were no longer accountable to Bill Parcells...

August 7, 2007 - Months after Parcells departure, an interview with Tony Romo was had by Nick Eatman.

Some players have been critical of former head coach Bill Parcells here this year, but you haven't.
Romo: Honestly I wouldn't be where I'm at if it wasn't for Parcells. You can say what you want, but if we go on and have a pretty successful season, Wade and people who are here is going to get most of the credit, but Bill put this team together too as well. He was a part of that - picking out the groceries for the dinner. You have to give him credit for that. I really feel like he's put a lot of good players in position to be successful. Hopefully, we can go out and do that.

He was probably lying, but still.

Funny how some people post more about Bill Parcells than they do about our team.

Just an observation.

Now Chocolate Lab is lying.

It's an epidemic.

If you can find me a Cowboys fan with more posts about Parcells than the Cowboys, I'll buy you a coke.

I suppose you'd enjoy it if those of us who were extremely grateful for what the man did for our favorite sports team would just shut the **** up and let everyone dance on his Cowboys grave - and for the most part we do, because we know there is no winning against that groupthink mentality. But every once in a while, we decide to stick up for his legacy here. That's something the bashers are just going to have to deal with. Most days I just skim through the bashing and think "what a bunch of ungrateful morons". Some days - I decide to comment.

That's the way of a forum, I guess.

I wasn't talking about you, SP. At all.

Jeez, man, I never said anyone shouldn't post whatever they want. Post a thousand times a day on Parcells for all I care.

Like I said, it was just an observation.

Maybe decaf would be a good idea.

Jcblanco22 and I are the official Chan Gailey defenders on the board.

Of course, we don't get near as much publicity, but we're not backing down. :)

Wow... You have just demonstrated that Tony Romo is a nice guy... What did I say:

Tony Romo is a rather care-free guy, and a guy who takes things in stride. He acts like that with everybody.

Says more about Tony Romo then it does about BP, doesn't it? Do you think BP was noticing these things about the second-string QB while the first team was practicing with Drew Bledsoe?

Do you have any quote from Tony Romo where he has ever called out a guy? On the other hand, those guys that aren't so care-free and nice were critical of Bill Parcells.

One more time for you:

Which QB in their right mind thinks they need 4 years of preparation to start in the NFL?

Ah yes the victim card... Are you mad that our trampling is getting in the way, of your worship at the grave of Parcells... Do you like how he also left the organization, claimed he was burnt out, and signed with Miami and is now dealing in matters which are clearly not the sign of a guy burnt out? How many organizations has he left in a similar manner? So he should get a pass for how he leaves an organization not taking into account their legacy, but he shouldn't be criticized because that is a mark on his legacy?

Group-think mentality? You must be a defender of the oppressed and poor like Robin Hood, as well, aren't you?

Ahh you poor thing. Having to hear people say bad things about your love child.

And just stop with this 'once in a while' thing. Everytime there is a Parcells thread its you and the rest of the usual suspects ready to nail yourselves up next to him. You all spew the same regurgitated spiel as well. Youre the same as anyone else you just back a different horse.

Parcells did some good things and he did another good thing for us by leaving. He is harldy worth the sanctimonious praise you try to force on us.

Go groupthink, go.

Tony Romo is a nice guy, who is also a liar. He lies to protect his coach, but then he still lies after the head coach is gone because he's a nice guy.

I get dizzy from all the spinning.

Cry more noob.

Every Parcells thread its you, IR and crew sharing the same brain too. And I love how when one or two people agree on something we all agree in your eyes. Your like a political radio talk show host.

Oh and thats another thing. If you actually listen to Romo's interviews from last year TC he would consistently say stuff along the lines of "I don't want to say anything about last year but this year...." over and over again. Romo is a class guy and I am sure he appreciate Parcell's giving him his shot but even he cans ee the writing on the wall.
