Pistons should have never traded him :(

Now they're trading Rip for a stiff with a bloated contract? I don't get it.

Rip Hamilton can help some championship caliber team out a lot. He's been underrated his entire career.

Where does it look like that?

last night we heard all this rhetoric like

"It's a the 10 yard line"

or just flat out, the deal should be completed tonight or tomorrow mourning.

No we're hearing it may take a month to finalize this deal.

Still no word from melo........

Detroit saves like $15M with this deal. In this environment there aren't many teams out there willing to eat that much salary. Hell, the Nets wouldn't have come close to eating $15M if Prokhorov hadn't thrown his wallet into the mix.

The Nets are desperate and Denver is bending them over.

Shouldnt be too hard to throw Al Harrington at lets say Sacramento. The Nets could even give up one of their 1sts for their troubles.

Theres no reason for the NFL not to make trades easier to complete. This stuff is entertaining

Sources: Carmelo Anthony still on fence

You brushed of Chris Sheridan as a pro-knicks writer when I told u about the reports that Melo would only sign with Knicks, what about Brussard?

"He has not agreed to go to New Jersey," said the source, who speaks regularly with Anthony. "I have never heard him, in all the times we've talked, say he's willing to go to New Jersey. Not once. Personally, I would be stunned if he went there and signed an extension."

I saw that. But Ive been following this for awhile now and Carmelo has been all over the place w/ what hes saying. First he said hed sign an extension no matter where he goes then when asked again he says lets just see. I think he feels bad about all the people whove been affected by this, especially Billups who is a Denver lifer and doesnt want to go anywhere else. So IMO hes going to try and act like none of this isnt under his control.

The Nets would be setting themselves up for a huge embarrassment if they did all this and before it got completed he said hes not on board. I believe Melos agent has hinted he would accept.

STHU Amare, no one asked you

Anthony has delivered mixed messages on his desire to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets. He’s told two teammates he would ultimately be fine joining the Nets, and pushed his agent, Leon Rose, to help construct a package of players to go to the Nets with him. Nevertheless, Anthony has been wildly back and forth on his willingness to compromise with the Nets over the Knicks.

Denver general manager Masai Ujiri has twice moved to the cusp of a trade only to back away and press a reset button. It happened once in September in a four-team trade and again on Sunday night. Several rival team executives rolled their eyes over the Nuggets’ tantrum directed at the Nets on Monday, mocking Denver for its threat to punish New Jersey for perceived leaks by trading Anthony to rival New York.

“Just for the sake of sanity, what would Denver do if Jersey told them, ‘OK, go ahead and trade him to New York?’ ” one Eastern Conference front-office official said

Good or bad Woj has a way better track record than Brousard.

Keep putting up that fight Brousard. It aint happening. George Karl just watched every play of Derrick Favors this season. Why would he do that?

As a Nets fan, I'm this close to hoping they just tell the Nuggets to stuff it. It's obvious the Nets have the best deal out there, but the Nugs keep trying to get more. Screw taking Al Harrington's contract. No one's doing that.

Granted, even the "best deal out there" is 40 cents on the dollar for someone like 'Melo, but they're not exactly negotiating from a place of strength.

DEN has no interest in OJ Mayo, source says, so NYK has to go back to the drawing board.

Thats really a shame

If your drawing board had Mayo as your main piece, you never should tried the drawing board in the first place.
