Blame Payton/Zimmer Coaches thread

Congratulations to Washington, they hung in there and took the game away from a tired, worn-out Cowboys team that became jelly in the last six minutes of the game.

The fourth quarter play calling left much to be desired as did the late game defensive effort - too little. too late, too tired. This Prevent Offense is as lousy as the Prevent Defense.

Maybe the coaching staff &/or the whole defense had money on the Skins?

HORRIBLE!

Horrible play calling probably the worst i have ever seen if we won today and next week we would be 3-0 wow i still cant believe were 1-1

Over a period of a game, any team can throw deep twice and score TDs. The skins just happen to do it twice at the end of the game.

The point is that they really shouldn't have those opportunities. We should have been up my more than 13 and letting the clock tick, tick away instead of stopping it for them.

You guys are clueless. Obviously you don't know strategy.

You're blaming Zimmer/ Rw/ AG/ you should blame Bill Parcells for putting Newman in the slot.

Let's do the math. Moss runs a 4.3 + Glenn runs a 4.5 + Newman runs a 4.3 = Newman in coverage.

BP is out coaching himself when he continuously slap Newman in the slot, especially when they are playing a prevent 2 deep.

RW's job is to not give them the first. The first down was only 14 yards away, so if he gives up the intermediate route which is run around 13 to 15 yards, then you will call for RW's head.

His responsibility on 4th down, is to take away the middle pass which could be an easy first down.

The cornerbacks are supposed to keep the receivers from getting deep. Glenn did what he could, but he shouldn't have been put in that position. So here's to Bill Parcells thinking he's smarter than what actually works.

You are right and wrong. I totally agree that Newman should have been on Moss and not covering the slot receiver. But I disagree that that is Parcells' decision. Zimmer is the DC and decides who plays where in coverage, not Parcells.

I cant believe it either. I would take it better if they skins were better and came out and beat us.

They didn't, we just sat on a 13 point lead in the 4th quarter for no apparent reason at all.

You think Parcells is going to put his legacy on some noboady conservative coach? Hell no! BP moved Newman to the slot during Mini-camp, and I don't like it.

The only time I like it is when you put your best WR in the slot, then you can move Newman to the slot.

We lost because of this:

Bad play-calling (settling for TD's and not knowing how to manage the clock with the play-calling)

Bad Defense (no pass rush by front 7 and bad safety play on the bombs)

We fcuking rested on our laurels with a lame 13-0 lead. The defense needs to continue to play.

4 minutes left and you are up by 13 points and you are running pass plays on first and second down??????????????

We never had the ball with a 13-point lead.

Prevent Cover 2 deep leaves an open zone in the middle of the field?? How do you expect the safety to converge on that much area??? You have to run Cover 3???? Where are you getting your defensive knowledge???

I am still wondering why we threw a 3 yard route on 4th and 4 on 4th down our last series. Whitten came open a split second after Drew threw the ball. You should always look for the TE in those situations!
