I've been saying the same thing since the day we signed Bledsoe.

I do however, (fingers crossed)feel he will do the job until Henson is ready to take the reins.

Sounds a little bit like that to me.

I am impressed. I watched some of Bledsoe's throws. Impressive to say the least. This guy is a born leader, something the Cowboys have lacked since the departure of Troy Aikman in 2000.

I allready like Drew Bledsoe. And I am sold. Yeah, yeah. It is only day one of TC. But you can't help but root for a guy who has a major chip on his shoulder and who is eager to lead this team to the playoffs, and prove all of the critics and fair weather fans wrong.

Nors... I may need your help on this one. But from the looks of it, Drew is more than capable of leading this 2005 Cowboys' squad. This guy is the ultimate leader.

Fletch:
You have to watch Drew Bledsoe play and throw in person to get just how talented he is. There is a reason he was drafted #1 overall. There is a reason Parcells went Pass happy with Bledsoe in his Pats coaching years. And that is the reason he was a Cowboy the day after made available.

That all said his detractors will chip away at some of his flaws. Parcells can manage that and use all his strengths. Bledsoe has a tremendous chip on his shoulder. He's won two 2 AFC Championship games and has a ring as the backup. He wants more than anything to get that Lombardi. I'm rooting for him big time.

Bledsoe is polar opposite VT as a QB. He's got some fire in him and will get after players some. I'm hoping some of that rubs into the entire unit. With Jones, Witten, Glenn, Key we legitimately have some weapons to make a defense pause in concern.

Bledsoe's arm is also something - he can make 30 and 40 yard post and outs that are unbelievable. He's tough - can play in bad weather. The other tid bit on Bledsoe is he is at his best in a no huddle. You might see some of that this year. Gets defenses in a mismatch and adds another thing a D has to pause for concern on.

Thanks for the camp update.

Lets also remember what Sean Payton did with Kerry Collins in New York. He turned his entire career around. Collins is expected to be one of the leagues best QB's this season with the cast that sorrounds him. Bledsoe is very similar to Collins in many ways. The difference is, Bledsoe doesn't need completely rebuilt like Collins did, he just needs a quick tune up.

Payton did such a marvelous job with Vinny :) Its all on Bledsoe....Payton will have no effect on him...that Bill's baby.

Lets just hope Payton will have a positive effect on Romo and Henson....thats where I want to see Paytons magic.

To say Parcells plans ahead is an understatement. We should have seen this coming when Parcells made Henson change his jersey number last preseason. ;)

I never cared for him, but I don't want my enjoyment of the season to be diminished by old prejudices. Plus I want Henson, because I foresee the Giants being set for a decade or more now, and pulling ahead of us. McNabb is still relatively young - Philly will get another eight or so years of franchise QB play out of him, and I think by the time this season is out, Gibbs will have his draft choice out there as well.

So a lot of it is about long term divisional competition, and rank, bitter, poisonous jealousy :)

But I am fully on board with Drew (for) now. I admire the way he has handled himself in Dallas, and I do want to see him cast off the baggage of being tossed out by two AFC teams. I have more faith in Bill to break Drew's bad habits than in all Bledsoe's prior coaches, and I KNOW he is an upgrade over poor Vinnie.

I am trying to get over my fundamental disliking of 'elite' quarterbacks who never seem to think they have to work as hard as the next guy, my resentment that when Kraft and Mumbles were persecuting Terry, Bledsoe showed no public signs of support for him, and my preference for a Favre type field general personality.

I want to not just support Bledsoe, which I sincerely do right now, but BELIEVE IN HIM, and even LIKE him. And I am working hard on doing just that. :)

He just has to meet me half way. By winning...whether it's dramatically or by bus driving...winning and keeping us in it while the new D is struggling.

(LOL, how's that for fan egomania?) :)

What was it that was just so majestic about Vinny Testaverde? You fawn over him and all I ever saw was a journeyman, listless career average QB. Bledsoe is head and shoulders more talented and more accomplished. 4 Time Pro Bowler and made it to 2 Super Bowls having won 2 AFC championship games.

I'm rooting for him and Parcells - BIG.

Nors....can have some of that Bledsoe koolaid.....I've been out for years. :)

I just can't get Bledsoe in a Bills uniform out of my head.....I was stuck watching Bills games here in Eastern Ontario.....I needed my football fix...and learned to hate the Bills with a passion.

Bledsoe just didn't impress me.....strong arm sure.....but when you need him to win against good teams.....he never shows up....

Where in that post did you see Vinny love? She acknowledged Bledsoe is an upgrade.

He's still a retread. Meaning he's being recycled from another team rather than homegrown. I've always liked him, but that doesn't change anything. I prefer players I can relate to or identify with. Always have. There are players who become exceptions to that. Glover has. Deion did. Novacek did. Haley did. I'm not saying Bledsoe can't.

Bledsoe is at least a major league retread. And signed by Parcells literally the day available.

Romo is a nice prospect with a bevy of experience and the intangibles.

Henson is the minor league retread a AAA Baseball player that couldn't hit and is onto his second NFL team at age what 25?26? Bledsoe probably had thrown for 20,000 yards at that age. FOR REAL. Henson can maybe run the scout team. If Henson was so great he'd be battling Bledsoe but the cold hard facts he's battling for the #2 job. A battle he is going to LOSE. See a pattern developing here? Its not condusive to leading a nd running an NFL offense.

Lets just say this, The defensive minds for the Eagles, Commanders, and Giants, among other teams, will lose a lot more sleep this season before they play Dallas.

The arm is controlled by what is between his ears and what beats in his chest. I have no questions about his arm strength. I know he has a canon. I wanna see his head in the game and his heart too.

Maybe, but I think that has to do with the whole team not just Mr. Bledsoe.

Was that the 3-13 team he took over? How was that era PRE BLEDSOE? Did you forget 2002 when he threw for 4300 yards? YEAGH THAT SUCKS.....Did you miss the 9-2 run last year that almost put them in playoffs?

Be carefull what you and Miki ask for - cause you are about to go back to REAL losing seasons, starting NOW.

lol -

The Bledsoe haters will now attempt give him no credit when the team wins. LOL
But if the team tanks its all on him.

There is one constant - Henson on the bench.

Already people who aren't as convinced as you are haters. Well, that didn't take long.

Losing season don't bother me.....as long as the team has a plan and is building a SB winner.

I rather win 3-5 games with younger players....then finish 8-8 for years with a vetern club.....
