Bledsoe or Roethlisberger?

This whole thread is short-bus eligible.

And the people that has said they would prefer Bledsoe?

You have some serious issues.

I have a feeling you might be eating crow this year. The Bus is gone, and they are replacing him with Duce Staley, who barely played last year. Their Oline struggled to give Ben protection in the SB and are all a year older(Only two guys younger than 30 on the Oline, and one is 27ish). They lost their biggest trick play artist in Randle El. They lost their cover safety and they havent really made any signings to improve the gap inbetween them and the Bengals, who will be the class of the AFC with the Colts, IMO.

Drew will outplay Ben this year!!!!

exactly, there are many variables going into this...

How will the running game fare? If it is like the Steelers', then I'll take Ben.

The only thing I would worry about is if Ben was here, Glenn would be lost. Ben isn't one to air it out as much as Bledsoe. That said, this all depends on what type of passing downs we'll have.

3rd and 2? I would prefer Big Ben
3rd and 15? I would prefer Bledsoe

There are just too many things to worry about, but with last year's Cowboys team and its less than phenomenal running game, I would take Drew in a heartbeat.

I think Bledsoe will have better success and the Cowboys will have better success if we can run the ball. I don't think Bill went into this past season thinking lets air it out I think he wants to run the ball and use the run to setup the offense.

and that's why "you know who" scares me. I had a dream last night. The Cowboys were playing in Philadelphia. The Cowboys were leading 40-19 with like 2 minutes left, but "he" got no passes. I remember freaking out because I was afraid of what he would do. It would really suck if that happened in real life. Here's to hoping Dallas works as a team!

I would take Bledsoe. The Cowboys faired pretty well considering that their running game was bad for the most part which meant Drew had to go out and do more in the passing game.

Two different QBs.

Bledsoe is a guy who can go out and win the game if the running attack isnt there ( as he did a few times this past year ). Give him a running game and he can be considerably better ( has a nice play action fake ).

Big Ben so far is a manager ( may change later ). Has not often been asked to go out and win the game and has had a stellar running game.

Ever hear of Willie Parker? Do you even watch football? Over 1200 yards? 93 yards in the Super Bowl? Fattis wasnt even the feature back last season. Oooh 368 yards of production gone, Big Ben is screwed!

Objectively you still take Bledsoe. Big Ben has been hurt despite his mobility and is more of a game manager at this point in his career than Bledsoe. Ben has been afforded some of the best pass protection, defense, conservative play calling, and run support the league has to offer.

Bledsoe is the better passer and better for Dallas this next year. OBVIOUSLY Ben is the better overall prospect by leaps and bounds.

I agree 100%.

Roethlisberger: He led his team to the league's best record as a rookie and won it in his second year. Forget all this talk about potential (of which he obviously has an abundance), Roethlisberger's the more effective player and has already led his team to a Superbowl victory (something Bledsoe hasn't done.) Superbowl victories and strong play are the measuring sticks (Dilfer can only lay claim to the former; Bledsoe, at times, to the latter.) I use this same barometer in claiming that Troy Aikman was a better QB than Brett Favre or Steve Young.

Troy was abetter pure passer, the other 2 brought intangibles that had to be planned against the that puts them on the same level as Aikman. I would take bledsoe for the next season over Ben. I still see Ben as a more talented QC at this point in his career. He doesn't do anything to lose you games but he doesn't do much to help you win either.

No, Cowboy fans will generally bash any QB and player who is not a Cowboy. Once they become a Cowboy, they're untouchable.

Lemme rethink some of the threads I've read here ... Ben is over-rated, Delhomme is over-rated, Vick is over-rated, ah fugget it ... any player who isn't a Cowboy is over-rated.

TO was the scum of the earth until he became a cowboy. then the fans by and large became the biggest TO apologist out there.

like BANG showed in his cartoon - that was too "dead on" to NOT be funny.

I think its hilarious that everyone assumes picking Bledsoe is based on homerism. When you aren't accounting for age the choice isn't nearly as clear as you make it out to be. Simply put, would Ben have done as well or better last year behind our line if he was asked to throw 30+ passes per game? I can't say that I've seen Ben perform well enough to say either way really.

OOO, now they dont have a power back, Parker cant block blitzers and Duce is getting ready to fall apart.

How many of those 93 yards came on one play?

Willie Parker may be good, but he isnt better than Tatum Bell or Julius Jones and the jury is still out on them.

Big Ben has tremendous upside and potential....but this isn't even close. I would take Bledsoe any day.

Well that hardly comes as a surprise. Is there any QB you would take over Bledsoe?

Yeah, we have the Commanders syndrome in reverse. Commander fans bash all ex Commanders players. All Pro while playing for the Commanders, camp fodder once released! LOL

Right, how many 1200 yards seasons does JJ have? Whats that? JJ hasnt even cracked 1000 in a season? Typical Cowboy fan homerism.
