Bledsoe or Roethlisberger?

I like drew ....... but if you get a chance at Big Ben ...... you hafta get him.

I never cease to be amazed.

Lets break this down.

Pitsburgh top 10 defense - 13 consecutive years - No Superbowl victory

Jerome Bettis - 10 years in Pittsburgh - No Superbowl victory

Hines Ward - 8 years in Pittsburgh - No Superbowl victory

Ben R - 2 years in Pittsburgh - 1 AFC Championship Appearance - 1 Superbowl victory.

Yeah, Ben R is overrated. OK...dokey.

Name the QB's, O'Donnell, who does have a AFC championship to his name and 1 SB loss, Stewart, Miller, Batch, Maddox, maybe even Tomzcak. Ben is a good game manger like what Henson is doing over in NFLE but Ben would wilt if he neede to say thro 40 times in a game to try and win it. He may turn into a slinger later on but right now Pittsburgh just has him manage the game and they try to keep him out of pressure situations. I am not saying his over rated he just isn't Aikman, Favre, Elway, or even Vinny when it comes to passing. I see him more like B. Kosar good field general but the team isn't built around him like the teams were built around the list of qb's above.

His passer rating is ok (98.3). He won a Super Bowl in year 2. He's an outstanding passer with mobility. Roethlisberger is a top 5 QB. Bledsoe is around 15.

I thought only Giants fans bash Big Ben since they got Eli instead!

Don't lose sight of reality: he's okay but he ended up in the perfect situation. The Steelers have been just a quarterback away for a very long time and he landed with a team that had a superior ground game, a turnover producing defense.

Sure the Steelers "won" the SuperBowl but it wasn't because of anything that Roethlisberger did. It is unheard of that a Super Bowl winning starting quarterback have a 22.1 passer rating. Especially when he was so severly outplayed by his counterpart, Matt Hasselbeck. We've played forty of these games now and never before have the officials been the story of the game. Hmmm....

Kosar was a lot better passer than Roethlisberger. He was very adept at reading defenses and anticipating what they were doing and he was very good at placing balls where only his receivers could get to them. Kosar is among the career Lowest Interception Percentage leaders. He simply didn't give the ball away very much.

He's not overrated, but he's not the star that some have annointed him. He might be real great someday, but let's face it...anybody that thinks he's the reason the steelers won the superbowl is delusional.

Big Ben's numbers were hideous, even Bledsoe could have matched a 22 QB rating. ;)

Lets face it, Drew Bledsoe was simply awesome in his only Super Bowl appearance. Oh wait.

well, he WAS awesome when he beat pittsburgh to get the pats in the sb.and i agree with skinsfan26,there is no way ben deserves all this attention when he stunk up the joint as bad as he and his team mates did.and for the 1st time since ive been watching football,i felt that game was fixed.just my opinion.

Bledsoe had an 100+ QB rating after 2 beautiful TD's passes in the 1st quarter against green bay before the pats lousy defense and special teams (desmond howard anybody?) let the packers blow the game wide open.

I didn't realize Drew was responsible for covering kickoffs and defending Favre and the Packers high octane offense.

Yea, that explains his FOUR interceptions.

He was down by 3 scores in the 2nd half....how else do you expect to get back in a the biggest game of the year unless you put it in the air?

Also 2 of the Int's were deflected by the intended receivers.....Drew did what he could, but fell short against a powerhouse packers team. :(

oh - you want him to go catch the ball too, now???? :laugh2:

Well, if the Bledsoe homer is trying to act like Bledsoe would do some superior job in a SB, the fact is that he hasnt. If performance is judged by interceptions, Bledsoe was twice as good.

I might have to put you on my ignore list if you don't stop fishing iceberg....I don't want to have to do that though because it's kind of immature.

I understand if you don't like my sig, but the dwarf business is a bit much.
