Like someone said before, Im sick of all this "Drew didnt have xoxoxoxo and didnt have xoxo while Ben and Brady have xoxoxox"
And i love how some of you guys use these numbers to prove you point but dont look at the basics. Want some numbers? Look at Drew's career. His best year, he was still mediocre.
60% completion (not impressive)
3706yards (great yardage as always, basically only thing good about him, maybe because he has to pass it an avg of 34 times a game)
28TDs (good)
15 INTS (bad)
sacked 30 times (great for him)
Passer Rating 87.7 (ehh at best)
So look, no player will have the perfect cast around them, so for christ's sake chill about how bledoe would be great if he had an O-line, defense, great RB, etc etc.
Have you ever though that maybe Drew hasnt found the "right system" because there really isnt one for him besides say a KC? How ridiculous is it to say that Drew, even with a SB caliber team, never had that great cast to make him a truly elite QB.
Bledsoe will not win a SB (not because he is a cowboy) but he has so many physical aspects of the position down, but the guy finds ways to lose a game and screw himself up.
It never ends......when the TEAM loses, it's all Bledsoe's fault....but when the TEAM wins, it's never because of anything he contributed individually.
What type of numbers do you think Peyton Manning would have without the edge, harrison, wayne, and a stellar oline (who he called out and made an excuse for when he was hammered by the steelers)??
What type of numbers would your washed up boy Brunell have without Clinton Portis and Santana Moss? Actually he still pretty much sucked that's why you had to add two other overrated receivers.
How about Hasslebach? Watch his numbers decline significantly now that Steve Hutchison isn't up front protecting him. Oh that's right he has another all pro blocking (walter jones) and the league MVP running the football for him?
Trent Green, Big Ben, I could go on and on with this.....but the bottom line is Drew has done so much over his career with so little....and this is FACTUAL information...but yes he isn't immortal and can't do it alone, and at least he's kept garbage teams competitive despite not making the playoffs every single season.
Tom Brady is the only guy you can make an arguement for that is truly in a class by himself playing in an offense with no true starpower and winning 3 world titles...but even Teflon Tom had a great coach, devestating defense and the most clutch kicker of all time.
If the offensive line plays well, the running game starts clicking, and TO does his thing and Bledsoe doesn't have a HUGE season and make a deep playoff run in 2006, then maybe I will admit that he's nothing more than a good stat padder, but you can't ignore the guys career numbers regardless...you just cant.
The NFL truly is a team sport, but if there is one guy over the years that has had his number of outstanding MVP type of performances...it's Bledsoe, and that's why he's one of my favorite players of all time...I have and never will be a pats fan but have always admired him and glad he's on the cowboys now!
