Vicks the most overrated QB in the game.... maybe the most overrated player, PERIOD.

Do I enjoy watching him? Sometimes. Sure, he has the dazzling runs, but the guy is an awful passer. Id rather see him at WR, same goes for Vince Young. :star:

Bledsoe has taken 100 more Attempts than Pro-Bowl Vick, and of those has 84 Completions (84 Comp. %) for 1000 yards (10 YPA), 8 TDs 2 INTs (133 Rating). Both QBs have 8-6 records. Why Vick? Not to sound racist, but is it because he's black?

NO, its because of his " Michael Vick Experience" and all the hype he's gotten from the media in his years in the pro's. He has "defied gravity" when he made that dive and kept his leg elevated as the ball crossed the plane. He has broken through and shook multiple defenders, and caused defensive coordinators headaches. While Bledsoe may have better completion, stats etc, Vick has recieved enough hype from the media, that gets him into the pro bowl year after year.
I will say it again, its a popularity contest, and Vick obviously won the contest

Think about it really hard: No one in this league fears Bledsoe...fact. They may respect what he can do when given perfect protection and open receivers, but no one fears him.

The players and coaches vote, and it's clear that they fear Vick and all that he brings to the table on any given day, any given play. It's not all about completion percentage. It's the same reason Eli will probably make it next year instead of Bledsoe...he leads his team flawlessly to comeback wins in the fourth quarter the way STaubach did. Players don't look at a guy's stat sheet. They watch film and play against each other.

Vick certainly has his shortcomings as a pocket QB, but I'd swap all 3 of our QBs for him at a second's notice, and anyone who wouldn't is flat out in denial or simply insane.

If you were a player or coach, who would you vote for? Who would you want to line up with for a football game? To say it's a popularity contest is a little silly....everything is a popularity contest, but the players and coaches make a player the popular guy on their ballots because of talent. Why do you think Michael Irvin and Jaworski and just about every former player on TV still named Vick as one of the likely 3 guys in the NFC...it's clear we have very subpar QBs in the NFC compared to the AFC.

Vick is superior to Bledsoe...stats or no stats.

Statwise Bledsoe is clearly top 3 in the NFC. He's in the top 5 in Yards, TDs and Rating and has been all season long, holding the #1 spot in Rating for 12 weeks straight.

Vick's rating is a deplorable 71. That's worse that 2003 Buffalo Bledsoe when he had 11 TDs 12 INTs. (73 rating). Even Eli is higher than Vick. Brunell and Eli were better choices. Vick has had much better years. Under 75 is just not Pro-Bowl, and just not exciting. I'd rather see a flea-flicker.
Sorry, statwise he is currently the 5th rated QB in the NFC as of this moment.

I dont fear Mike Vick in the least(as far as passing). As for him running, I call up the Bears and get defensive sheme/gameplan if they'll give out any secrets. look what the Bears and Urlacher have done to him, almost everytime they play. If you've got a stud LB that shadows Vick, it makes him look very average!

Give me a break. I can't even make an observation? If he had a pink hat on I might say it was because he had a pink hat on.

Yeah because we all know wearing a "pink hat" is so similar to being "black"

It's cool...I know where you stand now...

I can predict 2 of next year's 3 QBs barring injury right now. It isn't about merit. It never has been.

That's right...the same criteria as used in getting in the HOF.

Way 'nuff said:
It's not cause he's black, thats just an ignorant statement.

It's because he's one of the most exciting players in the league. Stats don't necessarily get you a pro bowl spot.

Really, who'd want to watch Drew Bledsoe in a pro bowl game? Not the most exciting player around.

Yes..Vick is very excitable..tell him to keep his hand on the ball vs. on his dick..maybe he'll even be a good qb deserving of a probowl..

Vick in the probowl..what a joke !!!

Bledsoe can barely, if not at all, move around. But he's a great passer.

Vick can move all over the place, but he's a horrible passer.

Honestly, it's like comparing apples to oranges-wouldn't want either.

Vick in the pro bowl is a joke, just shows its a popularity contest and not a performance reward.

Rodney Harrison rarely ever makes it to the Pro Bowl, FWIW.

If I am picking a running back I take Vick. If I want a QB I take Bledsoe.

Think about it, Vick is on Monday Night Football 12 times a year so he gets the votes.

Well you definitely are on the "no stats" side. Because Bledsoe has 4 Game Winning drives out of Dallas 14 games. Staubach averaged 1 every 6 games. Thus, Drew has more GW drives this year than Staubach never mind more than any other NFL QB. How many GW drives does Vick have in '05? How many does Manning have? Stop talking out your arse.

FWIW-Vick was a heck of alot more effective with Dan Reeves' schemes. The Jim Mora's West Coast O has really been useless, frankly. This scheme has been Atlanta's ultimate undoing more than anything else.

And FWIW too-Eli was really never an accurate passer. Go back to his days at Ole Miss, and y'all know what I'm talking about.

So true, it's scary.

It is fine to get angry about the Vick nomination. It is okay.

But to tout Bledsoe? Neither deserve it. That is where the argument should begin and end.

And back to your point, Bledsoe does not make a defensive coordinator worry the night before the game. If anything, it makes his mouth water thinking of how many different ways he can be pressured into infantile submission.

If the criteria is "fear", then Vick absolutely deserves the nomination.

No, it's not because he's "black".

It's because there are tons of fans whose appreciation of football was born of playstation fantasies.

There are also many players who seem equally in awe of his athletic ability...and frankly, I suspect the vote amongst the players is almost as 'popularity' based as it is for fans.

I don't vote for just this reason....the PB is about past glory, player popularity, or public perception.

Well put...

It is not about him being black and I am insulted that a cowboys fan would even generate that garbage. This isn't the Rush Limbaugh network. Vick stats on the field, doesn't warrant a pro bowl selection, but his stats off the field do however. #1 selling NFL jersey, top 5 pro sports jersey, sold out seats to games (including away games) when he is playing. I could go on but choose not to. Bottom line, Vick is more popular. That, and only that, makes this Pro Bowl selection a "joke". The fans have too much weight on who they want to see in the PB. Half the people up here don't like Drew Bledsoe. Of course he's not going to make it. Black has nothing to do with it.

I could be wrong, but I always thought that kids and younger people did most of the voting for the Pro-Bowl and for the baseball All Star game. The ones selected seemed to be the ones the kids saw all the time in TV commericials, magazines or video games. Vick is plastered everywhere and he is a young man at age 25. I think more people know Vick than know that Bledsoe is even on the Cowboys squad.

No--it is because he does so much with his feet and his excitement he brings to the game.

I believe Bledsoe should have made it this year over Vick because Vick has not done very well overall throwing the football.

Vick had some games where he could not get the ball wet if he threw it into the ocean......
