Well you definitely are on the "no stats" side. Because Bledsoe has 4 Game Winning drives out of Dallas 14 games. Staubach averaged 1 every 6 games. Thus, Drew has more GW drives this year than Staubach never mind more than any other NFL QB. How many GW drives does Vick have in '05? How many does Manning have? Stop talking out your arse.
If you honestly think Bledsoe is a better QB and wouldn't trade him for Vick this very second, then there's no point in discussing it because we live on different planets.

You guys act like the fans put these guys in the ProBowl...look up and down the entire roster...there are new guys on there this year that some of us know very little about. The guys who play the game would pick Vick over Bledsoe any day...that's what I believe.

If I could go into the playoffs with Bledsoe or Vick, I'd choose Vick, but then I'd also choose McNabb over Bledsoe any day of the week, and I've caught grief here over that as well. I'd also trade Bledsoe for Eli Manning in a second.

Its a popularity contest.
Period.

Mike Vick is far more exciting and famous than Bledsoe.

And Eli is everyone's goldenboy...
the next Peyton.

What a joke.

Vick is still arguable one of the most exciting players to play the game...There's very little doubt if you had the choice of a young Vick or the Veteran Bledsoe on your team.. Vick would win hands down...
Bledsoe has demonstrated he still can do it and at Probowl levels, But the PROBOWL is about the Image the NFL wants to present.....Its not the best of the best....Bledsoe has had a very good year..... and will only get better next year. Eli Manning(alternate) thats really shows the Probowl is about maintaining a Image

Cowboys feeling snubbed

posted: Wednesday, December 21, 2005

The team feeling the most left out from the Pro Bowl was the Cowboys. They had seven legitimate candidates -- safety Roy Williams, nose tackle La'Roi Glover, guards Larry Allen and Marco Rivera, quarterback Drew Bledsoe, tight end Jason Witten and linebacker Demarcus Ware. Only two made it -- Allen and Williams. The Cowboys seem particularly upset that Bledsoe was beaten out by Michael Vick and Jake Delhomme. It should make for an interesting meeting this week when the Cowboys play the Panthers. Delhomme may have to prove his Pro Bowl selection.

Statwise Bledsoe is clearly top 3 in the NFC. He's in the top 5 in Yards, TDs and Rating and has been all season long, holding the #1 spot in Rating for 12 weeks straight.

Vick's rating is a deplorable 71. That's worse that 2003 Buffalo Bledsoe when he had 11 TDs 12 INTs. (73 rating). Even Eli is higher than Vick. Brunell and Eli were better choices. Vick has had much better years. Under 75 is just not Pro-Bowl, and just not exciting. I'd rather see a flea-flicker.

Don't forget, Aikman made his first pro bowl with just 10 td passes. Who cares about the pro bowl anyway. Vick is more fun to watch and does more for his team than Bledsoe. If I had a vote, it would be for Brunell over both of them.

people need to realize the main color that people see is GREEN! ($$$$ money, cash, dollars, dinero for all of you who rode the short bus)
A**es in seats and licensed merchandise sales are IT!

Related notes, I was so mad when Jesse Jackson got worked up after Rhodes got fired in GB claiming race had something to do with it. The only people that make race an issue are the mediots.

Race did have something to do with it. Green Bay wanted to build a new stadium and both coordinators were both black too. He was fired for an 8-8 record with Farve,Robert Brooks and their star TE injured as well as free agency losses after just one year. Look how long Wanny,Norv Turner and Haslet have kept their jobs.

Vicks the most overrated QB in the game.... maybe the most overrated player, PERIOD.

Do I enjoy watching him? Sometimes. Sure, he has the dazzling runs, but the guy is an awful passer. Id rather see him at WR, same goes for Vince Young. :star:

Good thing you're not a GM. Those are two of the most talented athletes in football and they can also throw the ball. They are very young as qb's go. Guys like Brad Johnson and Rich Gannon couldn't play until their 30's. They just needed more time. Given enough time, both Vick and Young who's still in college will be very good qb's. Their athleticism is a plus, just like Elway,Steve Young and Randal Cunningham.

Elway, Young and Cunningham was well ahead of Vick as pure passers by this stage in their careers. Vick has had a horrific year and luckily has a team that can run the ball and play decent enough defense to counteract his weekly errors.

Think about it really hard: No one in this league fears Bledsoe...fact. They may respect what he can do when given perfect protection and open receivers, but no one fears him.

The players and coaches vote, and it's clear that they fear Vick and all that he brings to the table on any given day, any given play. It's not all about completion percentage. It's the same reason Eli will probably make it next year instead of Bledsoe...he leads his team flawlessly to comeback wins in the fourth quarter the way STaubach did. Players don't look at a guy's stat sheet. They watch film and play against each other.

Vick certainly has his shortcomings as a pocket QB, but I'd swap all 3 of our QBs for him at a second's notice, and anyone who wouldn't is flat out in denial or simply insane.

If you were a player or coach, who would you vote for? Who would you want to line up with for a football game? To say it's a popularity contest is a little silly....everything is a popularity contest, but the players and coaches make a player the popular guy on their ballots because of talent. Why do you think Michael Irvin and Jaworski and just about every former player on TV still named Vick as one of the likely 3 guys in the NFC...it's clear we have very subpar QBs in the NFC compared to the AFC.

Vick is superior to Bledsoe...stats or no stats.

You hit that one out the park, Wayne. Great Post.

I dont fear Mike Vick in the least(as far as passing). As for him running, I call up the Bears and get defensive sheme/gameplan if they'll give out any secrets. look what the Bears and Urlacher have done to him, almost everytime they play. If you've got a stud LB that shadows Vick, it makes him look very average!

Mike Vick has one of the worst pass blocking lines in football and gets almost every time he throws;he's also got 2 very green WR's in Jenkins and White; Everyone was blaming Vick for Peerless Price not working out there, but it seems that Price can't even beat out Crayton here and no one in the NFL seems to want him. Vick is a huge talent that has played under 2 head coaches and offensive coordinators in 5 years. He also played just 1 1/2 years in college. Give the guy a break, he's still exciting while he's learning to play the game while Manning is painful to watch while he's learning. Both guys will get it done in time, but they are able to win while learning. Bledsoe is still trying to learn to win after 13 years in the league, stats aside.

So true, it's scary.

It is fine to get angry about the Vick nomination. It is okay.

But to tout Bledsoe? Neither deserve it. That is where the argument should begin and end.

And back to your point, Bledsoe does not make a defensive coordinator worry the night before the game. If anything, it makes his mouth water thinking of how many different ways he can be pressured into infantile submission.

If the criteria is "fear", then Vick absolutely deserves the nomination.

Great Post!

I don't understand all the Vick hate. He's done nothing to hurt the Cowboys and he didn't vote himself into the pro bowl. This guy seems to be a lightning rod for hate on this board. I wonder why?
