Ok...I don't post much but I do read the forum all the time and think you have great input. I wanted to say something about that blocked field goal. My friend at work (Commanders fan) showed me an article his dad sent him from a beat writer in Washington. He quoted Troy Vincent as saying that, "The blocked kick will be the only one of my career because I got lucky, I want to thank Adam Archuleta"...Pointless I know so far, but the reason he thanked Adam Archuleta he said is because when Witten burned him, he started talking crap and he kept talking crap on the field goal kick, and he wasn't all there/pay attention when they hiked the ball, and Vincent just kinda ran by untouched.

Do you guys believe this?

Watching the video on the FG kick I can see that sorta.
I had heard that about Witten, but Parcells said it was Columbo's guy that blocked the kick.

Give him credit for going after it, I see a lot of FG attempts that are not even contested.

The blocked kick was ALL Colombo's fault...Witten had nothing to do with the block. It's easy to see on the film.

if a player doesn't attempt to contest a last second game winning FG, there's something wrong

The blocked field-goal is one thing (and it is bad that they let the Skins get it blocked) but what worries me is the attempt to bring down Sean Taylor, so many people miss and that stupid face-mask ( could very well have been an incidental for 5 yards but Refs call I guess) but the whole team couldn't bring him down till he gets to the 45 yrad line. That scares me because it kinda gives me an idea of the Boys attitude, they kinda give up hlaf way through.

We all keep talking about the FG but it is much more than that, the extra point and TOs drops are some of those that could have saved us from even trying to kick that FG.

You know what though, I still belive that we can be in the playoffs and here is the big surprise, the big schocker, I BELIEVE that the Cowboys can end the Colts winning streak. and if we win at Arizona, we only have 2 more raod games, I know home-field doesn't gaurntee anything, but it helps and we can still lose 2 and be there at the end, plus TEAM CHEMISTRY is building up as we go.

If the Skins could have a run like they did last year, why can't we. WE CAN AND WE WILL.

But you don't have to double-team the inside guy, and let the outside guy run in untouched...

But generally you'd block down (to the inside) and force the outside guy to take the longest route to the ball. I thought ideally, Witten would've blocked down on Vincent and let the outside guy go. Now we're hearing that sometimes Columbo stays and sometimes he goes inside on previous fg attempts. I wonder if that is a byproduct of poor coaching...
