BloggingTheBoys outing of Cowboys draft board

It's a scout's livelyhood. He, and you can infer that the other scouts felt exactly the same way, didn't like their work being exposed. BB didn't like it and we won't hear from the Cowboys scouts so I take it that it was a big problem. Jerry basically ignored them to a large extent which was proven when their board was made public.

Yes it is their work and when the draft if done that board does not mean jack. Hey if it would have been exposed before hand then sure that is a big deal but after the fact NO it is not a big deal. We picked the players we wanted, we got the UDFA we wanted and guys we did not get who the hell cares.

Actually I am pretty sure there are "war-room" cameras in a lot of teams draft rooms. We don't know what day this was taken or the time. I don't think there were other "people" in there during the draft. If there were I would love to hear someone speak about that. It seems that that is an assumption based on zero fact. We hear daily before the draft from teams all around the league with "sources" where players are ranked this has zero impact going forward. The draft is over it tells nothing about what the team will do in the future no 2 players are exactly the same and will not impact future drafts. I believe last year some people took clips of the names on the draft board they saw on TV and blew them up and talked about it did that have an impact on this years draft? nope not at all. This is all much ado about nothing really.

I watched most of the draft and switched from NFL TV to ESPN as well as the DC.com live war room and only remember one or maybe 2 other draft room camera shots. As far as who was in the Cowboys war room, there were serveral not professionally tied to the team including someones wife. There were others that moved in and out the entire draft who obviously had nothing to do with the process.

The woman in the draft room was

Charlotte Jones Anderson

As one of the National Football League's most innovative and versatile front office executives, Charlotte Anderson's 21 years of NFL experience with the Dallas Cowboys have enabled her to assume a position of leadership among women in American sports

Nothing but a distraction unless she gives input into who is drafted. IMHO.

She is part of the organization and the front office her being there did not do a damn thing. Grasping at straws.

I doubt you will care about my opinion on this, but you have nothing at all to regret for that, nor should BTB for this one. It didn't change one thing for any of the other 31 teams. It didn't hurt the team. All it did was interest your fellow fans. I happen to think the BTB articles are outstanding. The Draft was done. Where is the harm? If anything it gave all of us some confidence that or the most part they followed their board and a defined strategy. I like that.

:hammer:

Why should a scout's "feelings" about whether the draft board should be exposed matter to anyone?

Again an assuption made by you. Who do you know who is in there and who isn't? You are getting worked up over nothing.

Is anyone upset that a website dedicated to covering the Cowboys would publish the Cowboys draft board? Anyone could've done it, but I'm surprised they would. It's obviously an attempt to get more publicity for their site but it's had the opposite effect on me. Just wondering if anyone else felt the same way.

I believe they released some photo's of the draft board last year, as long as it's after the draft, I don't see any issue with it...

Are you referring to Charlotte Jones, the Cowboys Executive Vice President of Brand Marketing?

Really man? You are grasping at straws. She is heavily involved in what this team does and has a huge stake in the process. Much larger then you or me or anyone else outside of VR. I am sure that she wasn't the one who took the picture. good god...

Reality seriously this has turned into another bash Jerry thread and the team for how stupid they made THEIR team that they OWN look. This board use to be so great but now it's turned into a whining fest every single day. The o-line sucks, Jerry sucks, Garrett has no control, we did nothing about the line, the d-line sucks, Romo is fat, oh nooooo BC is calling the plays, the termenology changing on the offense what a joke, no vision, over the cap every day it's the same old same old. :banghead:

Funny thing is in the last 3 drafts we have selected an OL player in the 1st rd in 2 of them. :laugh2:

Facts get in the way of agenda Dooms, you know that! I actually think the o-line is going to be decent this year probably middle of the pack I think some of these young guys are going to show great improvement.

I expect them to be better. I think having a better understanding of the blocking scheme that Callahan is implimenting will help. Like you I'm not expecting top 10 or better this season but I do think they will perform to a higher level. Could be enough to get us over the hump considering how they struggled yet Cowboys were in the race until the very end.

Don't be naive. This is all purposeful and orchestrated by Jerry. He allows the draft board to be photographed to justify his selections. The draft board showed that they had Frederick, Williams, Escobar, Randle, etc. rated higher than the point they were drafted. Just PR for him.

Yes, there are many reasons that the OLine should be better.

Better health for Costa, Bernadeau, and Livings would be a start.

Adding Frederick is a 20% change in the OL. Frederick or Costa should be a night and day difference compared to Cook. Cook just cannot run block.

Parnell still does not have a lot of experience, but he does have drastically more experience than Zero, which is what he at the beginning of last year.

Leary and Kowalski have some ability and are probably better then last year's primary interior backup Dockery.

no.If the team really didnt want others to know about their board board then they wouldnt have done live interviews in the draft room.

ummmm.... Jerry and our coach have said repeatedly that this was the case immediately after the draft, why would this matter?

Could be. I just don't like seeing the spectacle that is the Cowboys war room. I do like the drafts of the past 3 years. Things are looking up there and I attribute that more to Garrett than JJ.
