but then again, he almost didnt get drafted. Maybe the other 31 teams saw what we did meaning Will McClay? I like the Richards kid far better than Torrence.Richards said he has center flex as well. Great value.
How is being picked at #59 overall translate into "he almost didn't get drafted"???? That makes ZERO sense.

All of these guys people want that were projected 1st or 2nd rounders fell in the draft. That's how we determine what a good draft is....how many guys you draft that fall you get. Which is a crazy concept. And you know what's funny? A lot of these guys you never hear from again. Anyone remember Maurice Hurst falling and people being upset about him? Haven't heard thing from him. Noah Spence? I watch these drafts every year and watch these guys slide and people say they are a "steal"....Nakobe Dean couldn't even get on the field for the Eagles last year. Maybe that changes this year.

Sad thing is, this was a pick to save 10 million, but we won't do anything with those 10 millions in savings. If we used to stock up on free agents, I'd say it was fantastic.

They had a good interview with Wells who said that exact thing. The other comment was the offense Michigan runs is similar to what we do so he should have a leg up on that.
Interesting...they said that about his age too? That they expect him to contribute right away?

I'm entitled to disagree with your opinion no? You said we wasted the pick. How on earth do you make a "wasted pick" and determine that less than 48 hours since making the pick? He hasn't even taken the field yet.
Again, it's called an opinion that is how it can be determined.

I would've preferred them run the 12 personal with Ferguson,Hendershot and O'Cyrus Torrence.
Was Torrence going to play tight end? Because eTorrence was not starting for us. Make no mistake about it. I wanted Torrence but I knew he wasn't going to start for us. I wanted him because maybe he can be a starter down the road.....can never have too many linemen. But Torrence was not starting barring a injury and even then still might not based on how they talk about their linemen.

the te i wanted was mayer.
but i love the mazi smith pick.
i like schoonmaker as a player...but not in rd2...and not over ocyrus torrence.
and personally i don't think schoon is that much better than ferguson or hendershot.
ain't nothin' i can do but root like hell for him.
but i would have either tried a move up to get mayer or just stick and take torrence.

Cowboys did not like Mayer for some reason. Its interesting they had Laporta as the best tight end on their board ahead of Mayer and Kincaid.

this guy better be one of the best blocking TE’s of all time!! to pass on Torrence who would’ve filled imo the biggest need on the team
Torrence almost didn't get drafted. We drafted Richards instead.

Not saying he is Kittle, but Kittle was 24 during his rookie season. Didn’t have much effect on him becoming the best
Aye if he's Kittle I don't give a damn what his age is give me that. ITs funny I looked over a few reports on him...Kittle was the comparison...I think I saw one that said Hendershot was a comparison which kind of through me off especially since it said he was a good blocker.

Torrence was by far the better option and a day one starter. It's the TE that is questionable.

Torrence nearly went undrafted. I think he was over estimated. We drafted a kid Richards with even more starts and flex. I think when we look back at it later, we will be happy. Th TE at 58 was early, I agree.
