Twitter: Bob Sturm on the Cowboys offense going forward

It can't. Cincinnatti is a mess on offense. NYG have nobody named anything other than Daniel Jones or Saquon Barkley. Wentz is Carson Wentz. The Rams offense has been a mess all year.

The defense is REALLY good, but the defense has been playing horrible offenses. This week (Philly) is their first REAL test.
You mean the Eagles who struggled to put up 20 against the Cardinals who aren't as good as us defensively and they had to win because the Cardinals missed a field goal at the end

We are averaging 296 yards a game. It was the 2005 Bears, not the 1985 Bears? Eh...so he's saying we still have a chance!
:grin:Work hard keep at it 'Boys. We still have a chance.

Obviously, it out-"pulsed" the Rams' offense. Which is kinda the objective of the game, isn't it? Take the fourth straight "W", and quit kvetching about this team's newly-found prosperity.

I do understand the frustration of petulant Madden-players & aptly-named "fantasy" fans who crave 70-point track meets. However, had Dak been in there, errantly slinging the ball downfield, generating three-and-outs (and turnovers) in less than sixty seconds per drive, a game like yesterday's at SoFi might well have turned-out quite differently.
Someone didn’t read the article lmao

Nope. I said prove A point. Not MY point. The rest is just some conclusion you wanted to jump to. I'll be cheering for the Cowboys to win, like I always have.
Thats my mistake misreading your comment then. My fault

I can’t take a guy seriously who has been watching football so long, but took 7 years to realize Dak can’t throw consistently against a zone to save his life, despite throwing almost exclusively out of shotgun formation with the ‘versatile’ passer that is Dak.

Last time I checked, Rush had zero problems finding Amari Cooper for 11 catches and like 170 yards, while Dak couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with Cooper the whole year, after TB. Maybe Moore isn’t bothering to play aggressive yet, because he doesn’t need to. Maybe he has a QB that he knows can handle a different type of game plan.

The Cowboys only had 10 first downs yesterday and reached the redzone only twice and still won by 12 points. That’s the first time they’ve won a game with 10 first downs or fewer since 1970. I believe we’ve only given up 5 TDs all season which is the first time we’ve done that since 1972. We’re not going to be able to sustain much longer scoring only one TD per game and relying on our defense to score and hold opponents to one TD per game. Our defense currently has 20 sacks which is the most they’ve had at this stage of the season in over 30 years. None of our great 90s teams that had Charles Haley had this many sacks after the first five games. Even the great 85 Bears got dissected by a terrific passing attack and sooner or later it’s going to happen to the Cowboys. We can’t bank on our defense playing lights out every single week and Brett Maher nailing every kick.
Great point. The other beasts we are yet to see but know are lurking, turn overs. Fumbles, ints at the wrong time that puts our defense back on the field will wear us down defensively. It's quite important that we work to hone our running game to keep those guys fresh.

Hopefully we win the Super Bowl this year and you all can go back to saying Dak only wins because his team carries him and he can’t put up stats.

I’ll be just fine with that. I think all of us will. Except you all.

We were 3rd in passing. Can he really be as bad as you imagine and finish 3rd? Let’s try to be realistic.

And he’s always completely sucked against zones, unless it garbage time stats against soft prevent zone. I don’t think I’ve ever doubted Dak being the leading QB in the NFL to get yards in the air when it didn’t matter.

So you really think he could finish 3rd, in the whole league, and only be doing that against man and soft zone designed to let him play well?

That idea sounds off to me.

This is basically the same statement Dak-Stan’s have been saying for years, but in a slightly different form.

“if Dak wins the Sb one day, you haters will still say he sucks and it’s because of the team.”

I mean it’s year 7 and counting, and I’m pretty sure my assessment of him has been way closer to reality than the Dak-stans. I mean I’ve been saying for years this guy has been getting away with so much single-safety high for years because of the RG and OL and he sucks against zone over and over again and he can’t recognize a defense, he can’t throw out of a traditional drop step limiting what his OCs can go, he stares down his WRs as an early read QB, his pocket presence is garbage and any average Qb surrounded by this talent and stability can win as much with this team.

Uh huh

THIS is true. It was not foreseeable when the schedule came out but as the season unfolds we can start seeing who is who, and we have played some really bad offenses. But, I don't think there are any really good offensive teams in the NFC. Hurts will fade. Aaron Rodgers has nothing to work with...... The Rams only have 1 WR and no Rb to mention. So, this conference might come down to who has the best defense. Wouldn't shock me at all to see a Dallas vs SF NFC title game.

We’re likely to see those turnovers if Cooper Rush gets taken out of his comfort zone having a game put on him. With the way our defense has been playing and our kicker has been nailing kicks he hasn’t had to do a lot but manage games. We haven’t been down by more than a score with him at QB. If we get down by two scores or more then we’re going to be in trouble. We’re going to likely need more offense than we’ve generated this season to beat Philly on Sunday night.

There is only one simple logical explanation as to why the Cowboys are 4-1 while averaging 18.6 yards a game and it obviously has nothing to do with prolific passing.

Cooper Rush does not have the skill set of a quarterback capable of winning a game for his team. However, he can prevent his team from losing by not making mistakes and staying in control.

he’s 5-0

Who have we beaten? 3 poorly playing offenses and the toilet paper Giants!
We beat the last two teams in the Super Bowl. Last time that happened was Quinn’s Super Bowl bound Falcons.

he’s 5-0
LOL, so now he single handedly beat those five teams?

Last Sunday, all the Cowboys needed to win was 11 points.

The Cowboys had scored 9 points before Cooper ever completed his first pass.

The Cowboys needed to score 11, the defense and special teams spotted them 9 points.

I do think the offense's limitations will catch up to them.

The defense/ST can't sustain this level of play forever.

Have to create a more balanced contribution

Exactly!!! Defense does it's job we go 3 and out or get field goals

In all fairness.

Who has Philly played? Lol they haven’t faced a defense like this either. I hate when people say well who have we played but then forget who Philly has played. Stephen a does it and it’s so annoying

How do you know our defense will hold up with them?? You have to take it game by game
