Other than being Marty Schottenheimer's son, what has Brian done to justify being a head coach?

He has recently been the offensive coordinator for a team (the Cowboys) whose head coach called all of the plays.

Of all the people rumored to be in the mix, he has to be near the bottom in qualifications at this point.

The guys on 105.3 are incredulous as you are - and asking the same question.

You know it’s funny is you’re probably right-. Moore is still playing in the playoffs. - Ben Johnson is asking for 15 million and he was eliminated.
I’m sure Moore said you’re gonna have to pay me well over $10 million a year.

Brian Schottenheimer has been a mediocre OC for almost 20 years now. I don't understand why he keeps getting chances. Maybe you bring him on as a staffer to work on gameplanning, but as a playcaller, or even the main OC? No way. And what's he ever done to merit a HC gig?

The interesting part about Schottenheimer is the success of the father and secondly I’m willing to bet Brian & Mike Solari were both at Seattle under Pete Carroll at the same time .
I don’t think a Schottenheimer vs KM choice is as clear cut as it seems .

I could very well see Jerry going with what he knows in one of these two men .
