This shows if Bill was still here, he'd be stubborn enough to have kept Bobby this whole time.

AND THREE YEARS AFTER he left we only now get rid of him says what about the current staff?

Oh get off it. Barbie was considered a "safe" pick at where he was gotten. Those idiots screaming now that he should never have been picked know squat. It was just a mistake in the process; just like every team has in every draft. All the measureables were there: size, speed, quickness, etc. Major program with a history of sending players to the pros. What it could not measure was what was inside the head; just like every other bust from every other draft.

Then why didn't we take Manny Lawson? He's turned out to be a pretty good linebacker. I guess because his dad didn't play for Bill Parcells.

Dude, Carpenter wasn't the even the best LB on that team. AJ hawk was the stud in that LB Corp. At 16 you don't draft safe. Seriously, he couldn't even make the rams who need all the talent they can get. The tuna is desperate and stupid.

I am certainly no Big Bill defender. Having said that, look at the 2006 draft, it was not stellar by any stretch. Good chance if we don't pick Bobby we would have picked some other scrub. Thats the kind of year it was.

Then again, I was a big Deangelo Williams fan. I would have "settled" for that pick.

So you admit he was a bust. By definition, a bust should not have been picked. Just sayin.' And yes, it is hindsight. At this point what else can it be?

And good luck to Carpenter.

For those newbies that either do not remember or never bothered to find out there was a specific reason Carpenter was chosen. We needed another rush OLB and at that time Ellis had not been tried. No one knew if that would work out. So that was why carp was the "safe" pick. All the measureables indicated he was what we needed. All the scouting services said the same thing. That was also why it was considered a "safe" pick. Also its a fact that the sons of former NFL players have a much lower bust rate overall. So that was another good reason to think he would work out. All the facts that could be known indicated that this was the pick to make. BUT the problem with drafting is that you cannot get a lockpick and open up the head and look inside. That is where either players or busts are decided.

And no one picks someone expecting a bust. That is beyond stupid to think that. If all the scouts in your organization say its a good pick and they have had a good record then you pick the guy.

I know that Barbie's dad played for Bill, but geez. Seriously, was there an affair between Barbie's mom and Big Bill? Is Barbie Bill's love child? He sure didn't draft him #1 or sign him to the Dolphins based on talent.

So Manny Lawson is a scrub? Davin Joseph is a scrub?

If there wasn't anyone there, then we should have traded down.

AS I explained for the deaf and dumb, the sons of former Pro Football players have a lower bust rate than other players. So its considered a good factor to use in choosing a player.

Even after they've "busted" with two other teams?

All the reasons to pick carp were good ones. All the factors indicated he was a safe pick to come in and do what was needed. He just busted. Guess what that is life.

Kosier was considered a bust pretty much when we got him from Detroit.

Gotta wonder what kind of pictures Bobby's dad has of Parcells.

How is a 7th round pick ever considered a bust?

Maybe you're thinking of Marc Colombo. He was the Bears' first round pick in 2002 and he was released midway during the 2005 season because they thought he was injury prone and his days were over. Now, he was considered a bust.

Once you are a FOB (Friend of Bill), you have a shot at a job wherever he is.

I bet a friend lunch that Carpenter would sign there as soon as the Lambs let him go.

once again you need to research a little before you post. Columbo had ONE injury- it was a bad one. The bears gave up on him thinking he would not make it back. BP was the only one who thought he might and took a chance on him.
