Our LB corps is supposed to be one of the best and deepest in the league... but aside from Ware, James, Ellis, and Zach Thomas, we have a lot of question marks.

Burnett is a 2nd rd pick in his third year and he looked just as bad as Carpenter out there. Not to mention he gets hurt every year.

I like Spencer

Carp and Burnett need to go.

You are talking foolish lumping Burnett in with Carpenter. KB was one of our better LBs last year and demonstrated a willingness to be physical.

Carp has yet to demonstrate this and he is in his 3rd year.

Exactly. Like Buddy Ryan used to say, "If they don't bite when they're puppies, they aren't going to bite."

A young linebacker can have some flaws in his game, but if he can't or won't hit, he simply can't play.

Ugh... And this after complaining about how he hasn't been given a chance by the coaches.

That is what is bothering me the most about his performance and I know that is why Wade left him in last night. I see a quick demotion next practive for Carp and he is quickly running out of excuses.

I didn't want (Carp or Lawson) Lawson a great athlete but he's soft too. I wanted Ryans from Houston late 1st. I hope he gets it together

I agree. After everything that's been said about him, I would have thought once, just once, he would have got really made, filled the hole and blow up the fullback. Even if he missed the ballcarrier, just to knock someone over.

He has no aggressiveness and plays way to high.

Not traits that you would like in any football player especially a LB.

That was last year, from what we saw from last night, wasn't very good. Never been a big fan of Burnett and he needs to step up. I am willing to give him a shot come next preseason game(Like I have a choice, LOL!)

Maybe getting rid of Ayodele was a mistake. We will see.

The jury is still out on Manny whether he is soft or not. From what I've seen he has a mean streak and plays very agressive. This year should shed a lot light on what type of player he is going to be.

Carp on the other hand; the judge is about to lower the gavel and it ain't looking good for him.

I've seen Lawson up close his last 3 years at MooU (I'm a Tarheel alum) we've ran the ball down his throat and we weren't that good. We beat he and Mario their last 3 years he plays with aggression but he's soft doesn't like to stick his nose in there and get's injured way too easy

I thought this was a Bobby Kennedy thread. I still say Nixon would have beat him in '68.

I doubt that.

Fast forwarding to now, If Nixon was running an ISO, our Bobby would miss the tackle, lol.

I really don't think he makes the team. Wade has no real ties to him (meaning Carpenter wasn't drafted under his watch), so there won't be any pressure in that regard. If there's a guy that shows a little upside and can be a better special teams guy, I bet it's bye-bye Bobby.

I only bash the skunk players. But I think he gets moved to OLB, too, before he completely stinks the place up....

I wasn't really on board with the pick in the first place. But even guys like Parcells miss on one sometimes.

That probably had something to do with playing special teams all night and playing like three full quarters on defense. He was hardly a difference maker. But I see your point.

Needed to fix it.

I just wish the man had a faster reaction to plays. Knowledge and speed can overcome the lack of aggressiveness. We know Bobby has the speed for his size. It's his other traits that are questionable.

This may sound stupid to you, but I don't think he has the feet to play the game. He's lacks balance, agility, is really stiff and upright and not a smooth runner.

He plays like he's wearing shoes 3 sizes too big for him....That's what I see. Roids can't help that....

I agree Bobby is too soft... but I also think he is not a good fit for a 3-4 OLB or ILB...I think his only chance in the NFL is to play outside in a 4-3 but even than I don't think he will be anything but JAG.

then why did parcells draft him when that's what he was moving to?

not asking you that zax. just more a pondering out loud. i do think this is the wrong D for bobby. i also think he looks like he's got 1/2 his head shaved when he ponytails it. i also think here or not his presence makes 0 difference to the team and it's time to move on.

but yea, he does look like JAG.
