If the Giants play that "good" against us, we'll win easily.

Depends on how well we play.

They played worse than that in the playoffs and beat us.

To be honest, I thought the Giants looked pretty good.

They came out and moved the ball really well early on. They ran the ball at will all game and I think Plax could have had twice as many catches if thats what the team wanted to do.

They cooled down after the 1st quarter but they looked sharp all before that. I'd take a win in that fashion. Come out and dominate for an entire half and maintain a two score lead for the rest of the game.

The giants looked great the first quarter and a half. After that... eh.

Don't know why teams don't just play zone against the giants and key on Burress every single play. It's pretty much the only person ShEli throws to.

giants looked decent...That defense will not stop our offense though. Commanders are a joke lol.

How do you assess their pass rush?

It seemed unimpressive. I believe the Giants only mustered one sack, when Campbell essentially walked into the arms of Justin Tuck.

Their only sack came on their first defensive play of the game when Campbell held the ball way too long on a three-step drop. And they were credited with only one other hit on Campbell -- and none after the first quarter.

They played much better than that in the playoffs in the two areas that matter most -- passing offense and passing defense.

In the playoff game, Eli had a 132.4 rating, averaged 9.1 yards per attempt and didn't turn the ball over. Against the Skins, he had a 61.1 rating, averaged 6.2 yards per attempt and threw one interception (and had about three more dropped).

In the playoff game, the Giants sacked Romo twice, had eight QB hits, forced him to scramble twice and held him to a 64.7 rating. Against the Skins, the Giants sacked Campbell once, had only two QB hits, never forced him to scramble and allowed an 81.2 rating even though Campbell and his receivers looked like they'd never practiced throwing or catching during the preseason.

If their pass offense and pass defense play like that against us, we will win easily.

It was much more the ineptness of the skins then it was the good play of the Giants.

Simple as that.

The Skins looked pretty bad. Campbell clearly had a bad night and he must do better for the offense to work. The Skins had chances in the game, and took advantage of very few of them. Is Burress that good? He looked open all night. The Giants looked like....the Giants. The OL was solid. Jacobs ran well, and the running game was there much of the night. Eli got the ball to Burress and did enough to win. Too early to draw any conclusions.

For those folks wanting to send Ellis and other compensation for Jason Taylor...

Bah!

The Cowboys would have had the same problems using Jason Taylor as the Skins are. They're stuck using an 245lb guy against the strong-side of the offensive formation.

And Taylor wasn't that great against the run before. Last night he was getting man-handled by tightends.

Thanks for the fantastic reply. I see you put a lot of effort into it. Did I even mention the score in my post.

The Giants running game went for 155 yards and seemed to push the skins around at will. Did you just happen to miss that part of the game? Yeah, the 2nd half was a snooze fest, but the skins were lucky not to be down by 3 or 4 TDs at the half the way their defenders were getting trucked.

Eli Manning made some really poor decisions in this game, and the Commanders didn't make him pay. I saw three throws that should have been picks.

The Giants certainly didn't impress me, but the Commanders showed that there is going to be a learning curve behind Zorn's offense. They're looking like a sure-fire 5-11 basement team.

He did make some plays. Two off the top was the screen he sniffed out and the toss to Jacobs that he strung out as the only defender to the right matched up on a tackle, played both sides and still made the tackle on Jacobs when he went outside for a short gain.

He had a rough game, but still made some plays.

His biggest problem is the position that they brought him in to play. He doesn't belong on the strong side, and neither does Carter. And their defense isn't built to run like the Colts, who would probably do pretty well with a Carter/Taylor combination. His play will suffer due to the fact that the Commanders decision makers are incompetent. They panicked, and brought a guy in to replace Daniels who is BETTER than Phillip Daniels, but is fully incapable of REPLACING Phillip Daniels.

That's a pretty good description of the whole thing.

Hasn't Jason Taylor played most of his career on the left side of the defense, which is typically the strong side?
