Bottom line is D could not make a stop when it really mattered

Leaving out the moronic rule that cost us a sure TD. But we cannot do anything about that stupid rule; we can do something about a D that when the season was on the line it could not get us a stop.

That is where the effort MUST be this offseason.

true nuff. I agree. Gotta fix the D in FA and the Draft. Man we need a pash rush in the worst way.

The defense really struggled the longer the game went on. Our offense did a nice job most of the season protecting them, but at some point, the unit has to stand on its own and hopefully with some talent added, we can lean on them once in a while instead of trying to hide them.

No doubt Defense played with a lot of heart and hustle through out the season and even within the GB game but it is not enough, Dallas will need to add to talent to this defense. Dallas gives QB's way too much time. On the good side I think there are some guys who will be able to come back next year and be a big help to this defense.

Absolutely. Way too many blown opportunities to get off the field/minimize damage yesterday and the D came up short...

3rd and goal on the first Drive for GB - td
3rd and 15 - td
2nd and 20ish - long ball to Cobb for Fg range
Countless passes to keep drives alive
And of course the last completion

When was the last time we had a defense that effectively blitz? I've seen some real slight flashes over the years but when was the last time?

We knew the defense was depleted coming into the season, what else Captain Obvious?

To me the biggest disappointment was the play of Moore. He had played good ball all season and yesterday just did not have a good game. Carr surprised me and felt he did a good job on Jordy Nelson

3rd and long and all we needed was one more stop. Tony and company would have taken care of finishing the game. But nope...let a tipped floater just drift into their hands.

I was surprised to see the Packers pass it on 3 and 11 there. Was expecting them to run it and drain the clock down to 1:20 or so and make the Cowboys go 80-90 yards to score a TD.

Packers average over 40 points a game at home. This defense played well enough to win this game.

The defense held them for a good part of the game.

The defense should have had a bigger lead.

Offense needed to be bigger. It wasn't.

Missed opportunities... In this order: Romo needed to make better decisions, Murray not fumbling would have been nice, Bailey hitting FG.

Held ball too long. Even Rodgers dumped it off quicker. Smarter.
Held ball too long. Asked too much of oline.

Crawford was a no show also. I expected him to push up into Rodgers face a few times. Didn't happen . The one time he did tip a ball at the end, they still completed the pass. Smh

There were a lot of 3rd and longs where we simply could not get off the field and give the ball back to Romo. The 90 and 80 yard drives in the 2nd half were painful to watch. Clearly we will be looking to upgrade that side of the ball big time this off season. The good news is we don't need a complete overhaul.

I was a hair surprised too...still shouldnt have been all big of a deal to get one more stop.

I would be shocked and disappointed if this offseason wasn't dedicated almost entirely to giving us a half-way decent defense (or better).
