Don't know if they're right or not, but I'm pretty sure they feel they know what they have in Randle....or at least what can be shown in the short term.
The question for him is something only tie will tell, and that is if he can give you 250+ carries.

Well, I have to believe Randle is the main reason they were OK with letting Murray go. We didn't have McFadden on the roster at the time. So there seems to be some faith there and I hope it's rewarded for the team's sake.

I would have preferred that we had better prepared ourselves for if he fails, and still would prefer it. I think once Dallas got McFadden, it felt it had a good fallback/contributor, but I believe that's wishful thinking where they are looking at the ability he possesses (which has been hit and miss) rather than the injuries that have almost always held him back.

I don't know if anyone remembers but I was pulling for Malena pretty hard last pre-season (ie pet cat).

I'm glad they brought him back even if it is more than likely that it is very temporary.

He has a small frame but a huge heart.

I remember, because you and I tend to see things similarly, and I had a soft spot for him, too. I'd comepletely forgotten about him.

I'm hoping Malena gets some work in preseason. Would like to see how he's come back from his injury and I think he has some open field burst to him with great vision at the line of scrimmage. He's the only RB on the PS that I believe can seriously challenge Dunbar.

I have concerns about the running backs and I doubt we have a long term piece currently on the roster. With that being said, I think you have to give the three guys they decided to go with a chance. I would expect if they were to make a move it would be near the end of camp or maybe early part of the season. One name that I thought of was Fred Jackson with the Bills. I really do not know his standing in Buffalo. Although the new coaching staff just invested a lot of money in McCoy.

It seems like every year the Billls hope to have someone else be the lead rusher but Jackson ends up being productive. Not a star but solid all around running back. I wonder if Jackson would be available as a solid veteran?
