I will answer Mike Bacsik's question for Chuckles...given the uncertainty of Gallup's recovery, I think we currently have a Bottom 5 WR corp in the entire NFL. I honestly cannot fathom why others....some on here....believe any different. We are going to be God-awful offensively this season!!!

..." Don't win super bowls in offseason "

..Wow .. So you don't add key coaches, executives and players in the offseason, that leads up to player, coaching performances that translate to the playing field - en route to SB's .. ?

The biggest offseason move last year was when LA traded multiple firsts and their pro bowl Qb for Matt Stafford.

The biggest the year before was when TB coerced Tom Brady to come play for them.

The year before that it was KC’s big revamped defense, trading for Frank Clark, signing Tyrann Mathieu, bringing in the new coordinator (despite making the AFCCG) from when the Giants won the super bowl with their Dline.

Remember in 2017 when Philly got Nick Foles and Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith and traded for Timmy Jernigan and Jay Ajayi and signed Brandon Brooks and Lagarette Blount and the drafted Derek Barnett with the 1st we got from Bradford to Minnesota? Nobody overhauled their roster as much as we did that year. We went from 7-9 to 13-3 real fast.

2014, the Broncos just got embarrassed in the super bowl and signed every superstar Defensive free agent they could. Demarcus Ware, Aqib Talib, TJ Ward all in 48 hours…. they won the super bowl the next year.

Absolutely you can win the Super Bowl in the offseason. Whereas There is no reward for not trying

You set yourself up to win Super Bowls in the off season, Stephen. At least that's what we're suppose to be doing. That's why we should fill the roster to the point where we go into the draft having no clear needs. So we can take the BPA. No wonder we can't get pass the divisional round. We got moron and moron junior running this team.
yep, but Stevy is telling us basically, that they know what they are doing, and we are just so stupid we dont understand the clever way of operating
that the jones boys use !! lol
So he thinks WE ARE THE IDIOTS!! If only we were as smart as them, then we could understand what they do.

The Joneses are tired of spending big money on players and not see it pay dividends. They’ve cut some salaries and aren’t investing much in free agency. They are going to take their chances with the team they have and bank on the draft to improve.

Thats not a strategy so much as the path of least resistance. The joneses fail in free agency b/c they don't really spend the time required to learn the players in the league. They aren't football experts. They are a family of yokals who struck oil and bought a football team.

Their coaches and personnel people spend the time required to learn the players in the league. Those are the experts. It’s not difficult learning the players in the league it’s whether they fit your system and are about winning and not all about money. Overpaying free agents hasn’t worked for a lot of teams which is why there’s still several big name free agents left.

The more I look at these comments the more it is clear- this front office makes excuses publicly.

Please name a single NFL GM or front office executive in any pro sport that would basically publicly say to its fan base, “We haven’t won a championship in 26 years, but trust us…we know what it takes.” It’s laughable. Embarrassing. It’s typical of the family fraternity that answers to no one, believes their own BS, and expects us as fans to keep buying their product.

No one talks about the cap more than Stephen Jones. He must have some type of bonus clause in his contract that rewards saving cap space..

The only positive about these comments Stephen is making is that he and Jerry are very aware of how frustrated the fans are with the team and the FO. Even those in the media have been critical of our offseason.
Right

And they’ll be attempting to spin it in a brighter light .
