What point are you making? I didn't say Jerry Jones was a great evaluater of QB talent. Just that he was better than The Prophet. Jerry made a mistake with Quincy. Still Jerry knows more than The Prophet who is touting Joey Harrington. Joey by the way has worse career stats than Quincy Carter.

Joey
55.2% completion percentage
5.7 YPA
10.3 YPC
3.3% TD percentage
3.5% INT percentage
68.14 QB rating

Quincy
56.4% completion percentage
6.6 YPA
11.7 YPC
3.3% TD percentage
3.9% INT percentage
71.62 QB rating

So, if Jerry is bad, then The Prophet is worse. Again, what point are you trying to make?
You must be a Quincy Carter apologist.

Must mean you don't understand it then. I'd explain it to you, but seeing someone else throw up has never been all that entertaining to me....except in the movie "The Replacements." I have to admit when the guys kept throwing up in the huddle and then moved the whole huddle, that made me chuckle.

You can throw up all the stats you want friend, but 99.9% of those on this board would side with me in stating that Harrington has vastly more upside then your boy Q. The Lions are probably the worst team in the league over the past 5 years or so. Q had a great defense under BP to carry him into the playoffs despite his piss poor play.
Besides, I'm not convinced that JJ is a better evaluator of talent then I am based on what I've seen over the past 10 years. LOL :laugh2:

Where did I say that Q had upside? Quincy did not play well, but still played better than Harrington. QC did not play for Parcells in 2001 or 2002 and I did not say anything about his contributions to the 2003 season. I agree that the defense carried that team. The Dolphins defense carried their team this past 2006 season despite Harrington's piss poor play. So right now, it is a comparison between dog excrement and cat excrement. Both stink. I would not want either guy in Dallas at this point, but you want one of them and you still think you are better at evaluating than Jerry Jones. It is not as if Jerry is willing to bring either guy back. I think he learned a little from his mistake. You want to make the same one again.

Kind of like we drafted Romo

Oh wait he was undrafted so he sucks never mine so instantly Baker sucks to because he was not drafted

Oh and lets not forget Brad Johnson came into the league as a 9th round pick which is the same status as a UFA player now a days.

Brad Johnson was a great pick up for us he is way better than Joey Bone head he provides a solid qb there that knows his role and knows the game and we are not in trouble if we lose Romo for 2-3 games.

Then the whole idea about the 3rd QB due to injury name me 1 team in the league that would not have issues if they are starting their 3rd string QB. Which team is even still consider playoff bond if they lose their starting qb let alone their back up that is just an asinine thought process.

Yeah, I guess you're right...what's not to like about a 39 year old washed up, graying temple QB who completely imploded last season? Silly me. LOL.

Yet he still outplayed Harrington last season. I am all for better options than Johnson. Joey has proven he is not one of them.

Was Brad Johnson (notable imploder) worse than Harrington last year?

Let's see...

Completion percentage
Johnson-61.5
Harrington-57.5

YPA
Johnson - 6.26
Harrington - 5.76

TDs
Johnson - 9
Harrington - 12

YPG
Johnson - 196
Harrington - 203

QB rating -
Johnson - 72.0
Harrington - 68.2

Big plays (greater than 20 yards)
Brad Johnson - 36
Harrington - 21

So, Johnson (who "imploded last year") was statistically superior to Harrington in nearly every category. Notably, candy-arm Johnson had FAR MORE plays of over 20 yards than strong-armed Harrington, while throwing to a lesser group of receivers.

Uh-oh.....

Let's see, our offensive coordinator thinks Johnson is the better choice.

Who should we trust, him or this :mule: ?

Harrington has far more upside based on his youth alone. I'm not sure the 39 year ole BJ has enough energy for another training camp. LOL.

To many of us, it isn't. That's why people get so pissed off at the antics of the Window Twins.

We are looking at backup not upside, if Harrington came he would be a backup not the future of this team. Add to that Harrington needs a lot of coaching himself and right now I would rather see coaches time and effort invested in Romo, not trying to save Harrington career. I have nothing against Dallas brining is a young QB via the draft but for backup teams that have young QB's normally will look to vets who do not take much time away from the younger QB

That's a pretty weak comeback...

Instead of saying Harrington has more upside, you're supposed to lay out WHY he has more upside. Age should never be used as the sole reason why you should sign a guy, regardless of whether they start.

This isn't the FWST board and what was allowed and considered acceptable there, isn't here.

Seems that this kind of stuff gives these two the attention they seem to desparately crave.

I guess they don't get enough in the real world.

Back on topic, this team is about to make a long-term commitment to Tony Romo. They don't need a backup quarterback with "upside". And funny that this "upside" has apparently gone unnoticed by the two teams that have given up on Harrington.

A team could do a lot worse than to have an experienced, intelligent, Super Bowl-winning quarterback on the bench.
