Brady Quinn in the Notre Dame connection

First off let me start off by saying, there is obviously something about Notre Dame's offense that pleases Bill Parcells. We drafted Julius Jones, and then two years later we drafted Anthony Fasano. And yes you should note that they never really had good receivers until 2005.

Anyways I digress. Who thinks we trade up to get Brady Quinn in next year draft. I know Romo is the guy right now, but I don't know if they're going to put all their eggs in one basket. If I could see any time where trading up was an option without seriously hurting the team, it would be now. Our defense is pretty set. And all our offense really needs is a quarterback, and obviously some new linemen (which we really wouldn't get in the first round anyways).

And despite what many (including myself at times) have said. We don't need to draft a receiver high next year. We have both Owens and Glenn for 3 more years, and we have some budding young talent behind them.

I'm still hoping that somehow Weiss succeeds Parcells.

P.S. I think drafting Maruice Stovall would be a huge cue if we did go after a receiver in next years draft. He started college a year early and has already developed into one of the best receivers in the college football.

Quinn will likely go overall #1. Too pricey to trade up that high. Way too expensive. I think we could wait and if Brohm of Louisville falls due to his injury we might take a shot at him late in the 1st.

I know he is going to go high, not sure if he'll go #1 overall.

Sometimes you gotta pay for a quarterback. Look at New York... and yes I know they didn't jump that high, but still.

He is not a number 1 QB...no way. I would not take him in the top 10.

Sorry Calico, easily the top QB taken and likely the #1 pick.

As a backup maybe. Starter, no way. Too short.

Didn't he get drafted last year?

Good catch. Yes, 3rd round by the Bucs.

I was too focused on the get Quinn idea.

Too me there is no QB in this draft worthy of a top 5 pick, Unless Brohm was to come out. Im not going to dispute that Quinn is a good quarterback prospect because I know he is but he has alot of negatives.

I think the sooner everyone realizes that the Cowboys are committed to Romo being the QB of the future the better off they will be. Romo is our future, they are not going to trade up to take a QB in the 1st round when they feel like he is the man. I would expect to see them drafting a QB in the 3rd or 4th round as a project.

I like Quinn, but there's no way we trade up to get him. Brohm's injury may drop his draft status enough to allow us to take a stab at him. Other than that, I don't see us going after a QB in the first.

I have a feeling that Troy Smith will not be anything but a good backup QB in the NFL.

I just think he is a good College QB.

Chad Henne QB Height: 6'2" Weight: 223 Year: Jr

The True #1, he was outstanding as a Feshman and has done everything a Qb can do. Qinn is good but overarted due to all the ND Hype,

I think Michigan laid the pipe to ND and made Quinn look like Drew Bledsoe against the Jags.... Don't believe the HYPE

While I like the idea of a WR in the first, methinks Calvin Johnson's and Ted Ginn Jr's stock is rising too high for where we'll be drafting. Samardzija's baseball habit bothers me too much to take him, so yeah, I'd like to adress the OL early. We absolutely NEED to hit on one of these guys in this draft.

QB in the second? Tempting. That might bring into play these midget QBs. Personally, I wouldn't endorse any QB under 6'2", regardless of talent level or production. I think there's a good chance we'll see a few prototype guys pop up between now and the end of the year that would be good picks in the second. If so, I'm all about it.

No, I don't want a short QB either. Booty of USC in the 2nd possibly.

I'd be surprised if Henne comes out.
