LOL....

You and your Concord buddy should be about ready to get married by now. Let me know when you set the date.

Miss guided is not a strong enough word for what you to fellas have going on here.

:laugh2:

I'm glad you brought that up.....I'm Miss guided because I've stated I'd be surprised if Troy Smith was drafted in the first round....which is exactly what you said (at least one of the stories you came up with) so I'll assume that makes you Miss guided also.

You're alot like another poster here that easily gets frustrated once they find they can't bully their viewpoint(in your case, varying viewpoints on the same subject) onto others as fact....and resort to the grade school name calling and inuendo.

Grow up a little bit...your desperation is not a good picture.

I suppose this is where I'm supposed to play into this little scenario your struggling to paint. I'm not 14 and your attempts to paint some sort of juvinial picture of me are for your own satsifaction.

What I said is essentially correct about Quinn and Smith. The fact that you don't like it is your own issue.

"Your a lot like another poster". Don't be a coward. Tell us all who you speak of. Truth is that you can not defend your positions. That is why you try to corner anybody who states opinion into fighting this constint anckle bitting campaign you and your little buddy Concord are stagging. It's amusing for a time but like anything, it can only play out so far. I've stated my postion over and over. Take it or leave it.

Does us both a favor. Spare me the grand old dad thing. The truth is that I've stated the truth and neither of you want to hear it. It's OK. Just don't listen.

Simple as that there big guy.

"Let me get this straight". I could spell it out for you in big red letters, 3 inches high and you would get it. It's cause you don't want to get it. I've said what I think. Figure it out as best your able. I can't help those who don't want to be helped. Maybe you can get your good buddy Jack to clue you in. I'm sure he'd jump at the chance.

You've changed what you've said and back tracked so much...Who knows what you really mean anymore.

I don't care to figure it out either...It's all a bunch of crap anyways and you know it...which is why all you do is name call and do your childish...Oh when are you going to get married garbage.

You're Brilliant in your own mind...Other people can tell garbage when they read it.

If you don't like what I'm saying, then don't read it. Just one thing. I've stated my opinion and given reason why I believe it to be so. Why don't you give a shot at telling us all why, no matter what, Smith is going to be a second round pick, regardless of how he does at the combine and even that will be too low.

Impress us all.

I never said that Smith was going to be a 2nd round pick no matter what.

I said that he'll be drafted as a QB no matter what.

Well, OK. Why?

If he measures in under 6 feet and he has a bad combine, why will he be a 2nd or 3rd round pick?

I said I think he will be a 2nd or 3rd round pick but it's not a forgone conclusion...He may not even go there with a Good Combine...although I find that unlikely...Who knows.

If he has a bad combine and measures short he could drop even further...but again that's not for sure.

The ONLY thing that I said the whole time and I'm as sure as I can be about something is no matter what happens at the combine if he is drafted...no matter where...It will be as a QB. Which is all I've been saying this whole time.

Well, how is that so much different then what I've stated? I mean, if you read the thread, I clearly stated the fact that I thought Smith would be a 2nd round pick with a good combine. I don't understand how you have issue with this. You call me out on the fact that I make referance to the fact that Smith doesn't get drafted as a QB if he doesn't show well. Well, I think that's true. Look, the statement you take issue with is clearly in reference to other QBs available in this draft. Palko and Stanton. You took this simple statement and bit hard on it. When I tried to explain the reasoning, which btw is valid, you told me that you didn't need to read the whole thread or some such thing. To me, it's a very valid thing. A great deal of this evaluation will be based on Smith's physical measurements. If he comes in short, and I think this likely, he's not going to get the bennifit of the doubt. Teams are going to start looking at where he can be of use to them. There are decent QBs drafted every year that don't play QB. They come into the league and end up playing another position. I mean, look at a kid like Scott Frost, look at a kid like Reggie McNeal. Charlie Ward from Florida State. He was a Heisman Trophy winning QB who was never going to get the chance to play QB in the NFL so he played in the NBA instead. I mean, it happens.

Hey you're entitled to your opinion and there's nothing wrong with that...I just don't agree with you that if he comes up short or whatever at the combine that given the way that he's played the last 2 1/2 years and has improved as a Pocket passer which is undeniable that there's anyway that he would be drafted as anything other than a QB.

If we were talking about the Smith of 2004 when he was running all over the place maybe I could see where you were coming from...But now over two years later with all the improvement...and it's been dramatic...that he has made...No way.

Hey, I'm fine with that. I don't have a problem with anybody having an opinion on things. No opinion, nothing to discuss.

I'd even go a step further and say that I do believe Smith is a pretty decent QB. I am a Texas fan and so, I've had at least some opportunity to watch him play. I agree that he's come a long way from his Soph. year. I remember watching OSU against Purdue that year and Smith looked bad. At that time, I don't think anybody new if Smith would be on the team or not the next year. He has certainly progressed well over the last few seasons but that is still a point of discussion where the NFL is concerned. While I agree with you that Smith has done well at OSU, he is still not had what can be considered a prolific passing season. He has been very effective. That is a very true statement but he has not put up big passing numbers by any means. 2500 yards is not huge. 30 TDs is big, there's no question and his TD to INT ratio is excellent but the problem is that when he gets evaluated, the NFL talent guys are going to look at the team he's on, his height and try to see if the numbers he's generated in college can be carried over into the NFL. There's a big question mark there. I think that if he had a poor showing at the combine, IE, not the desired arm stregth, not the kind of accuracy you want, issues with mechanics, speed, quickness, test scores, any of those things, it could really hurt him. He may be a great QB but there is no guarantee that the NFL talent guys will see him in that light. You just never know.
