… only to start with Jalen Tolbert and Damone Clark as your starters!
only to realize this process just started and Tolbert isn't the starter that's CD and gallup.. 33 is going to get better but LVE will be back IF anther LB isnt signed, there's like 8 very quality LBS available now and more being cut.

how about lets stop the dramatic posts knowing tolberts not our starter and our LB core is nowhere near complete.. worst case its same as last year but oh wait the draft is also a month away whole the season is 6months away.. odd, how the overactions start earlier every year only to have b2b 12 win seasons with fans calling for bad ones judging an off-season vs allowing the roster to be finished, then go play.

he might be willing to take bigger cut that Hop and if you haven't been watching this dude has steadily put up solid number with trash qbs...if you can get 100 with that Htown puts out at qb , that means about 200-300 more with good qb..
That's more than offset by the fact that he had practically no competition for targets. Every team has to throw. Their WRs were horrible last year and two years ago no one on the team other than him had more than 33 catches. I'm not saying he stinks by any means, but he is not the best use of $16M in cap space IMO (he's going to be 30 the first few weeks of the season) and especially when you must also throw in a pick to get him. YMMV

I meant as a #3 WR. Obviously Gallup and Lamb are your starters at 1-2.

Not everything is serious and realize it’s a message board. People can be facetious and have no bearing on the team.

sorry, this guy is a clown.

He has more phrases for not doing anything than anyone in the business.

"On Radar", "Due Dilligence", "Made Initial contact", "Keeping an eye on"

Full of it.

Didn't Cooks not want to play, and was all of a sudden hurt when he wasn't traded at the deadline?

sorry but stats are stats, if hes the only target then hes being covered by the best DBs, correct? LOL good try hes very good WR and we are not looking for a top starter, we have that we need @ or @A to go with CD and Gallup..we also have the draft and other vets are out there. this place believing, we need a top flight wr added are just being cowboys fans drooling or splash signing. this isn't 2018 we actually have 2 WRs that can pay, Gallup will improve this year and the rosters not set..IDC care who they bring in at wr

I want the LG to be stud in the run game, i want steel back and i want a creative and effective run game. that WR group and pass game will be helped immensely if they have run game against the better defenses., we had top wr room for 2 years it didn't get us any further, what we didn't have is a run game not in 18 against the rams, not in both the 9ers games. OUR OL is not physical in the run game.whe you are one dimensional and the d knows you are throwing, that wr isn't going to help, Cooper did not get us over the top yet that all we talked about as the missing link, nope its strong run game in the playoffs. RUN AND STOP THE RUN ie trench wars, win those, win most playoff games.

so i prefer a vet wr added like TY but for the all of the season and get WR in the draft and concentrate on improving the OL and RUN game. IM not on board with any trades, plenty of good FAS to pick from.

those are facts.

Not even trying to stir up talk about the subject…but trading Cooper and then trading for Cooks resulting in a net loss of picks and essentially the same amount of cap hit is WILDLY bad roster management.

I agree BUT ts its not a STAR story, its a SM post.. why take it seriously i wouldn't trade for any player right now..plentyy of FAS to choose from and more being cut daily.

Personally if I'm going to spend $16.5M on a WR next year it isn't Cooks and especially if I have to give up a pick to get him
What receiver that's good you spending it on then

Surface level I would agree with you, I'd even say that Cooks contract is worse (although I'm not an expert on cap hits when traded). Right now he is scheduled for a $26 & 24M cap hit each of the next two years I'm not sure how much of that hit gets transferred to the Cowboys? All of it?

Anyways the rumor at the deadline is this deal didn't happen because the Cowboys wanted Houston to pay a portion of his salary. If that's the case it changes my opinion on a deal drastically and in my mind is the difference in giving up a 2nd or 3rd round pick vs a 5th or 6th for a WR.
