This isn't a Cooks issue, it's a McCarthy issue.

Is McCarthy supposed to scheme CB's tripping and falling? Or have someone tie their shoelaces together so Cooks can get open?

Cooks hasn't been making an impact because he is not very good anymore

Maybe the db is playing good technique and refuse to turn his back on Cooks? We can see our DBs turning their backs all the time and get cook on plays.

The DB made keeping up with Cooks effortless even in his back pedal. Cooks like.like he was giving it his all. Looked comical.

I’m gonna give it more than 4 games before I say he’s not good anymore….he started slow last year as well and finished fairly strong. He is not as good as he once was, but that also shouldn’t be expected as he’s now older. Likely closer to a 3 than 2 now and a top tier 3 at that.

However, it’s very early in the year I’ll give it time before I just give up on him

I know I am talking WR to RB here, but Brandon Cooks is making about the same this season as Derrick Henry.

Bet Henry gets more total yards, touchdowns, similar receiving yards and blocks much better. Oh, opposing defences game plan and fear Derrick Henry, Brandon Cooks? No.

I bet Henry has more explosive plays this season, as he already has, than Cooks.

There's 1 thing that nobody can afford. Stupidity.

I will say in his defense he isn't used correctly, but he is an old vet at this point. The offense needs more big play ability.

Cooks is simply in a Horrible coach scheme for his skill set

McCarthy is running Cooks like he' a big possession WR.

Only running Cooks on those damn stop routes, comebacks and curls.

You don't do that with a small, speedy vertical WR.... We did not trade for him for that.

With a speed WR, you want him on the move, on the run, in stretch designs where he is on the move, on the run, not dead-stopping
his momentum.

- Other problem is Dak simply cannot connect with him on deep go fly bombs ... He is either gonna Over-throw Cooks, ..or it's gonna be
a badly Underthown ball.

If it's a big WR on deep balls who can battle- contest those underthrown passes air balls - that's our best chance for deep bomb passes
but it won't be a true speed guy like Cooks or Turpin ... Dak is having issues with deep throwing to these smaller speed guys !
