" owned " ?

You brought up one of the many things I said that Marshall was better than Roy Williams at (catching the football).

You brought up the stat that Marshall dropped one less pass (7) than Roy did last year (8). You failed to realize that Marshall was targetted twice as many times (156) to Roy's (76) last year.

You picked one of the 15 things that I said Marshall was better than Roy at and tried to refute the point. Unsuccessfully.

:lmao2:

I've been bringing up " targetting " and " drops " since fools in here were claiming that Marty B was dropping " alot of passes " months ago.

YOU made the wrong ASSumption and if you would have read my response to the other poster you would have realized that.

You poor soul. Have another Kleenex. We're out of binkies but you can pick one up back at that other place where you are seen as intelligent.

I know my standards are probably pretty high, but I actually like my high-priced receivers to produce.

Wow this trade opens up a bunch of doors.

You know the Phins are going to trade back now to recoup that pick.

Since Hos already shot down Barber being traded, I wonder what they would want. Crayton and Martellus and our first? That's a little too much to move up 15 spots IMO. Even if they threw in Ginn.

You don't think Miami is expecting to be picking lower next year?

Here's another difference.

Miami still has room to play in this draft. They didn't shell out a ton from 1 draft, leaving themselves with little to work with.

Miami can (and probably will) trade to the end of the 1st and pick up a second rounder and then some.

Dallas gave away a lot in one draft and could only trade back to bolster their special teams and waiver wire.

Straight value is only part of the trade equation. The Marshall trade wins on value and wins in other areas as well.

That RW trade has stunk and gets a whole lot crappier with each new WR trade that goes down. Hopefully it starts to pay off a little more.

Dallas also had a much better roster overall and was deeper then than Miami is now, meaning the present value of their 08 draft picks was lower.

I'm not really defending the RW trade. We paid a premium, didn't get value, tied up a ton of salary cap cash, and then underperformed that year and ended up making the trade even worse as a result. I just don't think that two 2s for Brandon Marshall is much of a steal, especially given the guy has problems RW didn't, and that there's even more guaranteed money in the deal.

The Phins also gave up a 2nd next year. So, maybe our 1st this year, our 2nd next year, and a player . . . . That said, I hope we don't move up. This draft is deep enough to get a quality player at 27.

If we move up, I'd prefer it's moving up from 59 to the top 50. Guys like M Burnett, S Lee, Nate Allen can all be had there.

I don't think it's steal but it's a better trade.

Given that Miami will likely trade back, pick up the 2nd they lost and still have a 1st rounder, I think the overall move is very smart on their part.

Moving up 15 slots in the 1st round would take our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. (conservatively)..and maybe more.

So you are saying Crayton and Marty could bring a 2nd, 3rd, and maybe more? I'm not so sure about that Slate. I'd take a 2nd and 3rd for those guys all day.

I agree tough, that Miami may be shopping their #1 now....it seems everyone in that range is looking to trade down....so maybe a better deal could be had.

Marshall is a headcase and I think we've had enough of those guys.

I would rather have Roy Williams if I had to pick one.

I wonder if something has already been agreed upon if Earl Thomas is available @ 12.

I thought I knew what was going to happen and then this trade went down and I just feel like if they trade down than it wont likely be with us unless we are willing to sell out for Thomas.

Why do you think that? And for what player?

I think a quality FS could be had in Round 2 for sure.

I doubt we trade up for McClain either.

I still think if we trade up, it makes more sense to trade up with our 2nd round to ensure we get a guy like S Lee, M Burnett, Ducasse, Nate Allen, etc.

I hope we don't fall in love with a specific player and overpay. There is a chance Thomas falls much lower than 12...more like 17-20. 12 to 17 would be our 3rd and 4th...so big difference.

Nate Allen at 39. Raiders pick. They need a 2011 first rounder. It would be like picking Nate Allen at 28-32 next year. It gives us an instant fill at the FS position, rather than having to wait a year.

That would still give us a chance to get Pouncey in the 1st and McCluster in the 2nd.

Pouncey
Allen
McCluster

Superbowl anyone?

With our safety situation than I don't blame them for not leaving it to chance if they make a move up.

Nate Allen not running his 40 may have him there with our 2nd pick... AND... Goose has him in the 3rd round according to his top 100.

Sorry, I must have missed Goose's top 100. The first version is already out?
