I know my standards are probably pretty high, but I actually like my high-priced receivers to produce.
Your standards may be high, but your information is faulty. Just like Mike Florio of PFT you keep saying Dallas paid a 1st, a 3rd, and a 5th for Roy Williams and in fact that is absolutely wrong.

The cost was still high, but it was a 1st, a 3rd, and a swap of a 6th for a 7th.

The problem with the true information is that it just doesn't rub people the wrong way quite like spewing wrong information with bile does.

No charge for the education.

Great value for both teams. If you watch football you know Marshall is a freak. Denver gets 2 high picks for a guy they didn't want to pay.

Will it be worth it when he screws up again and gets suspended for the season?

Every player in the NFL is one bad night away from missing a season.

True. But based on history, do you worry at all about Austin, Williams, Crayton, Olgetree, or Hurd?

How about Marshall?

Which player listed above do you feel is more likely to screw up next?

WR position is all about efficiency

Roy Williams - 38 catches and 7 TDs = 1 td every 5.42 catches

Marshall - 101 catches and 10 tds = 1 td every 10 catches

Roy Williams easily would have had 18 TDs with 101 catches..Marshall isnt that good

Man, I never realized how lethal Roy Williams truly is before...

wow.

Just glad he didn't end up on the Skins. Now they need an actual QB instead of a Wildcat to throw him the ball.

Nate Allen not running his 40 may have him there with our 2nd pick... AND... Goose has him in the 3rd round according to his top 100.

Where did you find this at? I dont see it at DMN. Normally his top-100 comes out right before the draft (usually the Saturday morning of the draft) so I would assume this yr it would be out next Thursday.

On his safety rankings he has Nate Allen 4th, right behind Mays. He has "1st rd pick" next to Mays, and Allen is rated ahead of Burnett and both Jones'.

Agreed. I've seen some with Allen fifth behind Burnett but most have him fourth safety taken in the upper second round. I'd take Allen or Burnett over Mays.

Totally agree.

I wouldnt draft Mays at all with the intention of him playing FS. One of the Cowboy writers suggested they could stick Mays at SS and then move Sensabaugh over to FS, but IMO that doesnt really change the way our safty position has looked the past several years. You still have a guy back there who'd be a huge liability in coverage, and the guy doesnt make enough plays to negate the bad stuff either.

Mays actually projects better at FS. At SS he would have to be matched up on TEs in coverage, and he's just too stiff to do well in that capacity. Considering that he weighs 230 lbs. His speed and closing burst would make him very good patrolling either hash in center-field, and providing deep help.

Goes to show you how talented he is if Bill is willing to take him on. I think he has Lawrence-Taylor-on-offense type potential; apparently, I'm not alone. However, putting a troubled guy in the city of Miami is interesting, to say the least.

Except for the fact thats the way he's been used, and he's pretty much been invisible.

I'm sorry, but if all I get from the FS position is 4 or 5 tackles a week here or there and maybe a blow up hit once every few games, thats just not enough. The defense lacks a ballhawk, a guy who understands angles and knows how to play the ball in the air. Mays hasnt displayed any ability to do that.

He was used to prevent the big-play from happening.

It was. Just ask Pete Carroll.

Pete Carroll isnt an idiot. If the guy was an ultra talented playmaker, you put him in positions to maximize that, not minimize it. It isnt like USC was struggling to field a defense with talent on it. They've put tons of talent in the NFL from all three areas of their defense for years.

Well, build yourself a time machine, go back to a year from now and tell Pete Carroll that.
