Brandon Marshall for a 2nd round pick.

He's 5 times the receiver Roy Williams is and we gave up a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th for an absolute scrub.

It is all about timing. If Marshall was traded two years ago or one year ago his value would have been different.

My question now is how does this effect the trade rumors involving Marion Barber?

we got shafted. didn't we? all the WR trades make our trade look worse by the day.

Yes, Jerry was suckered beyond comprehension on that one. But the market is different from year to year. This year, VERY obviously, draft picks are worth more than in some years. People don't get it when you here them throwing around high draft picks (2 very high firsts for Big Ben, for example).
Picks >>players before a draft.

Yeah I just don't see them making a move now though.

I think its pretty much official there will be no Earl Thomas on draft day. :(

I think there are alot of people who would argue that Marshall is the most physically talented WR in the NFL....and the Dolphins just stole him. Granted he seems to be a pretty despicable person off the field, but on it he's incredible. The only problem he's ever had with regards to football operations was a very legitimate one with his contract (i.e. T.O. in Philly, except worse) which his arrogant, worthless head coach made into a bigger deal than it needed to be.

Pretty phenomenal pickup by the Phins brass.
are you kidding me? the most talented WR in the league? you surely jest. I wouldn't put him in the top 10. he is a top 20 WR. dolphins over paid a little bit.

This does a lot man.

1. It makes Miami even more likely to move down to try and recoup some picks.

2. This also means Dez won't be going to Miami which means there is an absolutely rediculously high chance he falls to the early 20s. Wow.

Move up to 12 for ET OR move up tov20 for DB?

This is getting interesting

look for Ginn to be moved really cheap now
That explains him being on the market. Giant upgrade for Miami. Henne just got himself a 100 catch receiver who scores TDs.

We did a mid-season trade at an attempt to get a receiver to put us over the top.

Everyone was crying about getting a #2 receiver... Remember?

So Jerry gambled with picks in a terrible draft.

Did he give up to much? Yes. But the timing of it is why and the reason was good because everyone thought we were a #2 receiver away from a championship.

Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson were both considered head-cases with their other coaches, yet they would run through walls for Bill. Parcells should be able to give Sparano guidance on how to deal with Marshall. Perfect landing spot for him.

He also had Antonio Bryant yet a different result.

It won't affect the rumors, but he isn't going anywhere.

I don't buy the Dez Bryant to Cowboys talk.

We just have to much invested in that position already and how do we get Ogletree on the field if we draft Dez?

Roy is eventually going to be cut. Probably next year. But I don't think we will go looking for a receiver until he is moved.

At this point I hope we can get Maurkice Pouncey or just get out of the 1st round all together.

That stinks. Love Barber but unless he renegotiates his contract he wont be here but a couple more years.

I'd love to have ET, but it would take our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and another pick to move all the way up to the 12th pick. Uh, no thanks. Maybe a few players thrown in would help, but as we already have seen (and should know), players value decrease vs draft picks value going toward the draft.
