Are Julius and Roy really that far apart on production? I think not. They're both decent players, but not great. And are you serious on how he "wiffs" on tackles????? Have you watched any games the past two years??? Remember back in Pop Warner when you learned how to tackle...what did the coach always say, "Wrap Up". He does'nt wrap up and that is how he "wiffs" on tackles. He misses a lot of tackles trying to lay the knock out hit!
Actually there very far apart. JJ has had one decent year, one great half season. And then subpar everything else. He has been injured almost every season he's been in the league. Has yet to make a pro-bowl, and ended up not starting the most important game last season. He has not been a game breaker since his rookie year.
Roy has been to a pro-bowl every year after his rookie year. He has been a game changer for at least the first 3 years he was in the league. He gained a reputation of being one of the hardest and fiercest hitters in the league.
Comparing the two already shows your bias but let's continue tearing this apart shall well..

Like I said...there is nothing wrong with letting decent players go....I don't know why everyone is freaking out like he's Ed Reed, or Troy Polumau or something! We've let plenty of players go.....ie. Jason Ferguson. I didn't see too many threads about that.....to me that guy will be missed!
There is nothing wrong with letting decent players go that are under performing. Roy is not a decent player under performing, he is a great player who has not been playing as good as he can.
Two People are not freaking out, they are trying to figure out why cut a 5 time pro-bowler that has multiple years remaining on his contract, when you get no financial break, and you would considerably shrink the depth of the S position.
Three we did not let Ferguson go, we traded him away, what many that you claim are freaking out, are asking for instead of cutting Roy
and lastly how you will miss him i don't know. He was an old player who just got injured, and last time i checked, Ratliff and Tank did a dang good job of filling the role.

My original thread, last week, was about salary numbers, since we had just signed Hamlin. The secondary payroll is outrageous.
Just because the payroll is "outrageous" doesn't give enough reason to cut a good player that you think may not be playing up to par.

Maybe some of you guys just went out and bought your # 38 jerseys or something.....then I could understand the fuss! :laugh2:
I doubt anyone in this thread has bought a #38 jersey. I could be wrong though
