I am really sick of all this condemnation of Vick when we as a country murder millions of unborn every year in the name of choice. It is really getting old!!

I believe Vick should be punished. I believe his crime was heinous and disgusting. However, people need to realize and remember that Vick didnt hurt anyone. Vick didn't rape anyone. Vick didnt murder anyone. Vick didn't rob anyone (Falcons paychecks jokes insert here), people need to stop acting like he did.

It's the sheer evil of dog fighting and brutalizing animals.
yeah, we slaughter animals to eat. And to clothes ourselves. Age-old societal stuff.
But when evil enters the picture, activities just to amuse ourselves, that is when society says no more.

Dogs, at least in our society, are not on the menu. They are our pets and sometimes considered family members.

I agree with that point wholeheartedly. Vick deserves every minute of trouble he faces from this act.

But I have no problem pointing out that priorities and efforts are out of whack throughout this whole onslaught.

I am in the its just dogs catagory. I loved my dogs when I had then and cried when they passed away. But in the end its just dogs.

For those posters saying that we are putting dogs over humans, could you imagine the outrage and prison time that Vick would be under if he chained people, underfed them, beat them, forced them to fight, and executed eight of them for poor performance (including killing one of them by repeatedly slamming them to the ground until they were dead). We would be talking about the death penalty instead of a year in jail. His suspension from the NFL would be moot.
