On a serious note, my sister and brother-in-law live in Silver Spring. She said that they lost the ability to make cellphone calls out, but were able to send out texts instead. She was surprised to hear from me when I called after receiving her message about the quake.

Just called my brother in Fancy Gap,VA. He didn't feel a thing.....lol...I guess having lived in Los Angeles for 10 years makes you immune to little tremors....

Talk about a small world. My parents retired in Fancy Gap, VA. The live on top of a mtn just off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beautiful area.

Better safe than sorry, no one knew what power the Earthquake was until afterwards. Better to evacuate then to stand there and have people hurt and killed over things falling down or the building collapsing, It turned out to be not a bad earthquake but who is going to wait around and see how bad it is before the decide to get out? By that time it might be too late.

Just saying.
