Not sure how much of an update it is, but it's something.

... If Romo's ready to train again in 3 weeks, could be back playing in 6 weeks. If that takes 6 weeks, could be 10 weeks before he plays.

One area where Cowboys and Tony Romo dodged a bullet -- No ligament damage in Romo's back, I'm told. Should be training again in 3-6 weeks.

We'll see...

I think he's back soon.

Lucky for us our first 4 games are soft.

2-2 or 3-1 would be huge.

1-3 or 0-4 would probably mean season over.

Backup QB was such a huge priority this offseason and we ignored it but luckily we stumbled into Dak.

So how accurate is his informant.....:muttley:....as to the 3 to 6 weeks time table......

I will believe a time table when the team comes out with one....oh, wait...day to day...:banghead:

I hope your right. A lot of us said the same thing last year after he got hurt in Philly....then we lay an egg and go 1-11. "In Dak we trust". :)

Romo will never be a definite scratch for any game this year until NFL league rules says Garrett has
to provide the 46. Garrett is not going to give anyone any information.

I was hoping someone here could help translate for me. Training in 3 weeks? Playing in 6 weeks? 10 weeks before he plays? I read this as it could be 3-10 weeks before he possibly plays?

It could easily go that way if the Cowboys coaches call plays like they did last year..

They have been more dynamic this pre-season than the regular season last year so hopefully they don't go into a shell.

I don't trust this staff at all but Dak has playmaking ability so he could possibly overcome their crap with his running.

Forget about Romo my man. That ship has sailed. The future is bright with Dak, Zeke, and this young Oline.

Once some of you guys accept that were not winning a SB in the "Romo window" thing, you will see much more clearly.

The best thing that can happen for this team is for Dak to get up to speed as quickly as possible. That is the way we are going to win our next SB. Not holding onto some old and brittle Romo that is 60% the player he was.

Just sit back and enjoy the future. Its starts now.

Did they "stumble into Dak" or did they actually scout him?

So, the same as has been stated. Could miss one month of the season, could miss two months of the season.

If it's two months, and Prescott hasn't imploded, I'm keeping the rookie on the field.

Just cant believe that after watching Romo break like a china doll last year and now this year, that all these guys want for Romo to get back on the field. As if he is going to take us to the promise land or something. These cats will never face reality.
And what a shame. When they could be enjoying the growth and maturation of Dak Prescott and this young offense.

How did we ignore it? Serious Question. They met with several QB in FA but didn't sign any. We don't know the reason they didn't sign any though. We can speculate, we can guess, but we don't know. Maybe we could have sold the draft to Pick Wentz or Goff or Lynch, but we would be in the same boat, a Rookie starting day 1. I don't think we ignored it at all. I didn't see any major upgrades available in FA, it was a pretty pathetic FA List. And I am not sure any of them would have been better than Moore and that says a lot because Moore sucks. And I don't feel like we go lucky with Dak, first we don't know what we have with him yet, but it does look promising.. but the coaching staff spent a lot of time with him before the draft, I think they knew full well what they were getting.

We'll know a lot more when Dallas does or does not place Tony on the 8-week IR.

I just remembered, I found my Romo jersey this past Saturday. First and only time I wore it he got injured in the 2012 Commander game.

I feel partially responsible.
You are totally responsible. We need an inventory of other players' jerseys you have and sincerely hope they're retired or Doug Free's.

They met with him like 4 or 5 times before the draft. I would think that counts as them scouting him.

I don't think anyone expected him to do what he has done thus far.

So it can be a little bit of both....we did our due diligence on the guy and maybe we got a bit lucky. Bout damned time too!

Stephen Jones has came out and said they didn't expect this from Dak.

Kellen Moore was never an answer. That was some status quo bs.

Dak Prescott is saving all butts right now. Let's see if he carries it over into the regular season because if he can't our season is over thanks to the backup situation they IGNORED.
