DALLAS (AP) -- Prosecutors say Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent has tested positive for marijuana while awaiting trial for a deadly car crash.

if this is true then :bang2: :bang2: :bang2:

I have been all for us supporting Brent. And I'm way pro marijuana. But we are going to have to release the guy now.

If true, then some people you just cant help, We need to wash our hands and walk away.

Didn't he just get brought in for suspicion of boozing since his ankle bracelet thingy went off 3 times in the recent past as well?

Wow. Lock him up and throw away the key. Some people never learn.

As a blue collar man I just don't understand how a fella could throw away a career playing ball.

Nothing wrong with pot, but this guy just does not have a brain at all. If you are going on trial for manslaughter you better be walking a straight line especially if the organization is standing behind you. This isn't about the "POT" ths is about being stupid about the situation you are currently in.

If this is true, then they need to hit flush.

Then again, I would have hit flush last December.

1. I'm not as harsh as others; I feel sorry for Brent. This is not likely a case of being stupid or not caring. In my mind, the young man is clearly sick, seriously so.

2. That's the end of his story as a Cowboy...It is what it is.

Why are you banging your head against the wall? It is disappointing, but it isn't that frustrating. It is his life that he is throwing away(allegedly), not yours.

It doesn't matter if anyone is pro-marijuana or anti-marijuana. It is currently against the law and a bad thing for Brent to do(allegedly) in his current situation.

Releasing Brent is not a sign of not supporting him. It is just may be a necessary business decision.

If Brent ever plays again, it would be better for both him and the Cowboys, if it was for another team. He would get minimal media/fan scrutiny if he played for most other teams.

Also, Brent is not a great fit for Kiffin's defense.

Everything checked out when he went in to have his ankle monitor examined.

I now wonder if the media just found out that "something" was wrong and thought that it was due to drinking but it was actually due to this failed test.

you are supposed to get smarter as you supposedly mature

Brent seems to be getting dumber by the day

Yeah, I failed a pot test once. Of course, I have never touched the stuff. Those tests aren't always accurate.
