Brent fails two drug test...Ordered back to jail

i have to admit i admired the way the cowboys stood behind him to give him every shot at turning things around. but enough is enough and it's time to cut bait and look at camp cuts from other teams for another one to try and groom.

what a shame.

Hey Ice,

Good to see you. How have you been?

If this is a life issue, we can and should still try to help him.

If it is all about him coming back to play football, .. cut him now, .. we can get someone else.

It all depends what the Cowboys feel about the kid.

isnt this a betrayal of the support he received from Jerry Browns mother. Seems to me he doesnt care about anybody.

Cutting him does not preclude the club or the NFL from providing him help. I think one is independent of the other.

However, the Cowboys may be allowing the League to handle this. Since I am uncertain of exactly what his situation is with the League, I would imagine that the Cowboys are trying to take advantage of any possible angle towards recouping Cap. I don't know this for sure but it would make sense to do so if the opportunity were there.

why is this guy still on the roster. I do not see the potential that the cowboys do when I watched him play.

He will be cut soon. I mean, how can the management support having a current roster player sitting in jail? Not only does it send a terrible message, it makes no sense if the goal is for the team to "get better every day."

It's a process.

I'm not embarrassed at all in how Jerry has handled the Brent situation up until this point. It will be interesting to see what happens now, but Jerry has handled this with class in my opinion.

I agree completely.

Cutting him now doesn't send a message. It's just something that needs to be done.

This is my take on it, too.

I agree. Jerry has his faults but I will say Jerry has always tried to stand behind and support players who have gotten in trouble. Cowboys and Jerry stood behing Irvin, Lett and others he has given chances to guys like Pacman who I did not feel we should have given a chance to.
