man at the end of the year we are going to all say a common theme. Should of got a D-lineman this year. We are thin. I think we will have big trouble stopping the run this year. We better hope our offense explodes out the gate almost every game. I thought price could make us forget about d-lineman if he was all good and ready to go. He was pretty good in college.

On Talking Cowboys yesterday Broaddus was saying that Price had really poor conditioning. The first couple of plays of a drive he was all over the place, shooting gaps, causing havoc, and really being hard to block. Then by the 6th or 7th play of a drive, the guy was just gassed and was totally a non factor.

He said he watched 3 games of the Bears last year and he saw this in every game. So maybe this was a factor in his release, maybe Dallas thought he should have been working out harder this offseason or something. Or it could be that shoulder is jacked up beyond repair and they decided to cut bait and bail on the guy. Maybe their medical staff told them that shoulder would never be 100% again and the guy is damaged goods at this point.

I don't know, lots of speculation at this point. I would say we are kinda thin at DL right now.

Don't go overboard there. They could still like him and putting him waived injured opens up a roster spot. It's likely he needs surgery, no need to keep him on the roster if so. He's a guy that was available on the street a few months ago so I doubt they would be worried someone is going to pick him up.

...as opposed to perhaps listening to all the couch potato evaluators we have on this forum??? :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

Well of course. The couch potato's here are always far more experienced, and know so much more, about the profession of football than those who've actually been doing it for years and year now.

Just ask them. They'll all tell you that they're just sitting on the couch cause they've never been given the chance to show their superior skills to the world by the NFL.

Nonsense. Jerry says DL is a strength.

Not sure why expectations were so high for a street free agent...

He had potential, but there is always a 90% bust potential for these players...

Wow! Another 5 page thread on the legend of Brian Price. At least he's been cut now!

What next? The 12 page thread on how Sterling Moore is the next Deion? :p:

Surprising. i thought the team was actually counting on Price to be a contributor to the defense even in a limited role.

You should know the drill by now.
Well, if you're going by old tape then yeah there's something to be excited about. But I follow both the Bears and Bucs beat writers and while they liked him as a person (for the most part), but I don't recall seeing much positive being written about, other than his ability to overcome his family tragedies.

I think RS was referring to CZ's nature of getting overexcited and crowning players/prospects before they actually do anything.

I knew what he meant..

I was acknowledging that you can be excited if folks were going by old tape...but if they were going by recent, I hadn't read much good about him.

As long as your expectations aren't too high, Costa, Parnell, Church, Albright, Moore, and McCray have all turned out to be decent finds.
