I dunno about you, however, I think the luster has come off Sean Payton a bit the past 3-4 years.

I'm pretty sure most New Orleans fans wouldn't be heart-broken to see him gone at this point.

Please. JG couldn't hold Payton's jock. Payton has won 4 of 5, traded away half his good players, and has the most horrible defense and DC in football!

One knock against Payton is that it was his idea to bring in Rob Ryan, and stick with him.

ill let it go because you know its not happening.

I'm not so sure, and I've been a Jason backer since day one. Jerry has always liked and respected Sean. Sean and Romo for one last hoorah? Ya kidding me? Jerry would be heralded as genius just for getting Sean back. Think of the headlines, the ticket sales.

Doesn't Sean have a house in the DFW area? Doesn't sound too far fetched if you ask me. Think of the possibilities with Dez. I think even Sean would even unearth Escobar to be a real force.

Oh the possibilities. To say it will never happen is to say that Jerry is the poster boy
for sobriety. It's definitely possible.

Sean Payton has said he's "open to other opportunities" after this season, and Saints have confirmed they would let him out of his contract. How great would it be if Red was shown the door, and Payton was reunited with Romo?

I've always thought that Red would be here as long as Romo was, but this is different since Romo has ran Payton's offense.

I can dream, can't I?

Romo has become a pro bowl QB with NO coaching, he would be Brady with Sean Payton.
with that said, he has maybe another year left, 2 would be miraculous. But would love o have Sean grooming a young QB too. Won't happen.

I stated a few years ago before Payton signed his extension that Jerry needed to back up the Brink's Truck to his house. Of course, most the Zoners and stupid Jerry felt that JG is more than capable. Payton designs plays to maximize a player's talent in order to get the most out of each player. JG just designs plays based on his system which never takes a player's ability into account. We are stuck with JG because Jerry will not allow him to sit at home collecting millions of dollars. Even if JG's contract has an offset clause in it, nobody in the world would hire JG to be their HC so the offset clause would never be put in effect. Jerry is stuck because of his stupidity and love for JG.

It's funny the number of people that wanted him gone.
And if he came back and had the same type of season the saints have had the last couple of years people would be ready to run him out again.

Either way...Red is staying so put away your wish list for this coming year.

We never even saw what Payton could do with Romo, because Parcells ran a conservative offense...

This offense would probably be off the charts and if not win a SB, at least be fun to watch. We haven't seen fun outside Romo on his own in ages.

Not gonna happen because of the new 5-yr deal JG signed in offseason. Too bad because Payton would be the answer IMO.

I agree, and I did the math before and I figure it'll cost JJ about $70mil to make the change. That's a lot of money even for a billionaire.

Here's my biggest reason for pulling the trigger though. There's what, 3 maybe 4 elite coaches in the NFL right now? The thing with elite coaches is that they rarely leave their current teams so if one becomes available and you don't mind paying for one, I think you go for it. Payton's pretty young also (for an elite coach), so it could end up being a long term marriage.

Do a little research into the Payton-Jones relationship. It's not happening.

I am to a point, where we need fresh faces. for what ever reason we can't buy a win. I don't have a problem with scheme. I think one thing that's obvious is how romo and dez have covered our gap in talent. the defense is awful and we have invested heavily in that side....one sack against philly with two subs at tackle!!! awful awful awful....and our draft picks outside of 1st round have contributed nothing, no impact player, so we need to revisit our scouting.....our last 2nd round and lower impact player was Murray....

our team isn't playing smart. they make stupid mistakes. they shoot themselves in the foot. there is not a sense of urgency acorss the team, but only certain individuals...and I am tired of Hardy's anger act....let his arse go after the season. Crawford gets a large contract and gets outplayed by a rookie PS from KC we picked up middle of the year.....

The whole "I won't have control under Jerry" thing? That was probably accurate at the time seeing as how he had never been a HC, but don't you think Jerry will give him all the control he wants at this point? A lot's changed in 10yrs.
