Bring back Sean Payton

I don't know. The vast majority of fans have turned on Garrett. Jerry will be worried about ticket sales next season, too. It's a long shot, but I think Jerry always feels the pressure from the fanbase.

lol, Keep on dreaming folks. That's all it is. Red gets a pass because of all the injuries.

Not only did Jerreh just place a double down bet on Red, why on planet Earth would SP *want* to come to this circus?

Fire them, fire or retire them all.Romo too old and brittle, Sean Lee, Witten too slow. Also Carr and some others on defense.Time to start over clean the house out.Sick of excuses and brittle bones.Romo couldn't win in the playoffs when he was playing--as the DMN says maybe they just aren't that good.

Sean Payton has said he's "open to other opportunities" after this season, and Saints have confirmed they would let him out of his contract. How great would it be if Red was shown the door, and Payton was reunited with Romo?

I've always thought that Red would be here as long as Romo was, but this is different since Romo has ran Payton's offense.

I can dream, can't I?
Payton's head is huge. He would want all the control etc. Ain't going to happen. He's got Miami Dolphins written all over him. Even Jacksonville.

Injuries can undoubtedly derail a season. If the Cowboys were 2-4 over the past six games due to injuries, I think most fans would be understanding.

But a six game losing streak is something else completely. Even bad teams usually avoid losing six straight games.

Not when Romo is out of the game. You just don't get how import he is, I guess.

In my opinion, we're finally discovering the full truth of those 8-8 teams. Can you imagine how bad they would've been without Romo? I'm developing a new respect for Dave Campo.

You can't compare seasons like that. Different years have different rosters.

I don't see this happening. If Jerry were to hire a new coach now, he would be admitting to the biggest management blunder in his tenure as owner. He would be admitting to wasting the prime years of a great quarterback on a coach who, by Jerry's own admission, had to learn on the job and never developed into anything other than mediocre.

So you're saying that the majority of the other QBs aren't as important to their teams as Romo is to ours? Mmmm...not sure I'm buying that.

Yea, I don't think it's happening either. No, I know it's not going to happen, but it's fun to wonder. He also doesn't have to admit to any sort of blundering. If he goes on to say that hiring and extending Garrett was the best move at the time, but when an opportunity to hire one of the elite coaches presented itself and how this move is best for the organization going forward, no one will kill him for that. He'll probably be praised actually. It's not a blunder when your trying to upgrade.

I stated a few years ago before Payton signed his extension that Jerry needed to back up the Brink's Truck to his house. Of course, most the Zoners and stupid Jerry felt that JG is more than capable. Payton designs plays to maximize a player's talent in order to get the most out of each player. JG just designs plays based on his system which never takes a player's ability into account. We are stuck with JG because Jerry will not allow him to sit at home collecting millions of dollars. Even if JG's contract has an offset clause in it, nobody in the world would hire JG to be their HC so the offset clause would never be put in effect. Jerry is stuck because of his stupidity and love for JG.

Yeah I remember that time, I dont usually start thread but I started a few on here about trying to get Payton while he was available but it didn't happen.

The proof is in the pudding. Back when Peyton Manning was with the Colts and he went down, how'd they do? The same is true today with the Cowboys and Romo. Not all teams are built the same so some are not so dependent on certain player.

Slap on another 7 or 8 losses and you might have a case at 2-14.
Locker room would be in shambles.

Could careless what Saints fans think. Man is a great football coach and offensive mind.

Developed Romo, took a guy in Brees and everyone thought was finished and developed him into a Hall of Fame QB and Super Bowl champion.

Still one of the best coaches in football. We'd actually have some creativity for once. It hasn't mattered what weapons they've lost. Even a great tight end like Jimmy and they still are as explosive an offense as there is. There's two reasons for that. Drew and Sean.

And they've never really had a true dynamic receiver. They had Graham for a few years, but that was it. Colston for a couple too.
