I'm not so sure, and I've been a Jason backer since day one. Jerry has always liked and respected Sean. Sean and Romo for one last hoorah? Ya kidding me? Jerry would be heralded as genius just for getting Sean back. Think of the headlines, the ticket sales.

Doesn't Sean have a house in the DFW area? Doesn't sound too far fetched if you ask me. Think of the possibilities with Dez. I think even Sean would even unearth Escobar to be a real force.

Oh the possibilities. To say it will never happen is to say that Jerry is the poster boy
for sobriety. It's definitely possible.

Yup. Escobar would put up Pro Bowl numbers with Payton as coach.

hell, he'd put up a few td's just dreaming about payton as a coach.

maybe it's me but if payton were a great coach then the saints would still be a great team.

Any Head Coach that can take the "Aints" to the Super Bowl and win is a genius. The Saints' History speaks for itself. JG would have failed miserable in this situation. Parcells liked Payton very much. I would love to hear Parcells' opinion of JG. JG would never have been on a Parcells Staff unless they needed a Water Boy.

Damn Strait, George! Payton loves himself a viable TE threat. Witten, as much as I love him, is on a steady decline. Slower than my trickle of piss due to a swollen early morning prostate.

Payton would make sure Pablo saw some action.

Payton's head is huge. He would want all the control etc. Ain't going to happen. He's got Miami Dolphins written all over him. Even Jacksonville.

I actually think he's in Indy next year, helping Luck to reach his potential.

I agree, and I did the math before and I figure it'll cost JJ about $70mil to make the change. That's a lot of money even for a billionaire.

Here's my biggest reason for pulling the trigger though. There's what, 3 maybe 4 elite coaches in the NFL right now? The thing with elite coaches is that they rarely leave their current teams so if one becomes available and you don't mind paying for one, I think you go for it. Payton's pretty young also (for an elite coach), so it could end up being a long term marriage.

Surely red has a buyout for firing and it's not the full length of contract. I could be wrong but I would say it's more along the lines of 19-20. A buyout and Peyton's first year. Which if we're being honest is chump change to Jones

Steady decline? What are you talking about?

Witten is as good ever. We have no quarterback right now and he's on pace to have a better season than last year.

Yeah he might be slow, but he's still as reliable and steady as they come.

They are a good team, but they've had a lot of issues over the last few years, few of which have to do with Payton.

Garret isn't going anywhere in the next 5 years.

I'm sure Jerry has some beneficial buyout clauses with Garrett, but yeah, the Internet GMs who would fire a coach twice a year are gonna have to deal with JG for a while.

Again, Jason is a warrior, but I could tackle Jason with my pinky and he'd fall like a sack of potatoes. Romo has a beautiful relationship on the field with him, but he's impeding youth. Just my opinion.

I'm a huge Witten fan, but watching him catch 5 yard passes, only to be tackled by his ankles and immediately fall down will allow him to play for twenty-five more years. Let's just say I envy the Bengals with Tyler Eifert. We have something similar with Gavin. Just not utilizing his talents because of Jason's All-World talents.

but Fletch you have a mean pinky. A rare combination of speed, size, and attitude. Your pinky brings it every down and is a warrior.

Witten isn't the reason we're not utilizing Escobar. The reason is this garbage scheme. Instead of using more two tight end sets like we once did we've gone away from it unless we're going heavy set and we rarely pass out of that. That's why. Witten has never been great at breaking tackles, but he's always been a sensational route runner and still is with soft hands and uses his body well and is especially good with option routes and how good he sells the defender. He's still a great football player.

I dunno about you, however, I think the luster has come off Sean Payton a bit the past 3-4 years.

I'm pretty sure most New Orleans fans wouldn't be heart-broken to see him gone at this point.

Yes.

At least Payton had some luster to lose. Garrett has yet to do anything.

Sean Payton has said he's "open to other opportunities" after this season, and Saints have confirmed they would let him out of his contract. How great would it be if Red was shown the door, and Payton was reunited with Romo?

I've always thought that Red would be here as long as Romo was, but this is different since Romo has ran Payton's offense.

I can dream, can't I?

I remember when he was here and fans wanted him ran out of town
The problem is not with the staff but the fact we don't have Romo
