Not sure if it was mentioned... probably not since its a basketball story.

Baron Davis.

He has been rotting in New Orleans or whereever the heck he was.

He came to Golden State, did nothing his 1st year.

Nelson comes in as the new Head Coach and rujuvenate Davis' career.

Rotting in N.O.? What the hell are you smoking?

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/baron_davis/career_stats.html

He was a good player in N.O. The trade to GS didn't rejuvinate his career so much as he got healthy.

Health can do that. And looking at his stats, they are similar to what he was posting in N.O. supposedly "wasting away."

And if you watch him play now versus when he played in New Orleans, he is still the same player, but arguably a more consistant shooter.

IOW, he hasn't improved much. He just plays in an uptempo system that allows him more opportunities to pad his stats. He's still the same good player he was in New Orleans.

Not according to him.

You should have watched his interview on Rome is Burning 20 minutes ago.

He was pretty down on his career UNTIL Nelson came into his life.

Maybe he feels better about his career.

But as far as how he is playing......

To be continued...

I posted about his playoff stats by accident.

Want to try those stats things again?

Or do you just want to conceed defeat?

Either's fine with me.

But hey, he shot a career high at 43.9% for the season. Though, I did say he shot the ball better than I've seen him do in the past....

Defeat?

I didn't know this was a war.

I feel a little cramped in this thread... someone's head is getting a little too big.

The point of the story was Baron Davis was down and out about his entire career UNTIL Nelson came into town.

Stats do not tell the whole story, so if I have to sit here and explain that then I would be wasting my time.

I know you know numbers aren't the ONLY measurable for a successful athlete.

Nelson changed his attitude and got him excited about basketball once again and you can maybe even credit Nelson for mentoring Davis on how to be a leader... how to gain the respect of your teammate... blah blah blah.

But if you wanna throw the stat book at me then so be it.

I said that its likely Davis did feel better about his career.

If you want, I can provide the quote for that.

But as far as his playing goes, statistically, its about the same....

Key word being "watch."

My proof was in the stats AND HOW HE PLAYED.

The latter is done by.......?

Ok ok, I am just gonna "give up" becuase you are taking this way to serious.

All it was was a feel-good story where a new coach came in and had a positive affect on his players, including Baron Davis.

Everyone else would have taken this as a positive reinforcement for us, the Dallas Cowboys, being in the same situation with Wade Phillips.

If you couldn't find or maybe just not understand the connection then now I hope you do.

As for the pissing contest, no thanks, I will respectfully decline.
