zimmer relies on blitzes and strong DEs to generate pass rush. when he doesn't have that, his defenses struggle.

plus we have edwards, who worked for him and was let go to put Zimmer's son in his place. that's not going to be a good dynamic, which would mean we probably would lose edwards too

He did have some success with pass rushers in Minnesota. Lesser guys too, like Hunter or Griffen. Has always had a stout DL.

I am also worried he wouldn't be very imaginative in how to use Parsons, though. And we all remember our CBs playing 1000 yds off the receivers, but maybe he stopped that

One call defense. I like Zimmer but not sure we have the personnel to make that work. What made Quinn successful here is he was willing to change from his heavy Cover-3 defenses in the past.

Was he? He has a Super Bowl appearance on his resume and not too many coaches can say that. I don't think he's any worse of a head coach than McCarthy.
