Great to read but I hope Jerry and the coaches take the same approach for the DL as they did for the OL. 1st round investments. Control of the line of scrimmage matters and we are seeing the dividends now.

I hope Bishop can play BUT I want the investment made in the DL in the 1st.

If this is true I'm amazed that Coleman never recovered from that calf injury because it seems since then he just fell off...

A lot of young guns on the defensive line. Don't count out Gardner and Whaley next year.

The calf was part of it.

The other part is that with the emergence of Brent and Crawford being moved inside, they didn't need Coleman.

Win or lose, this defensive line is starting to grow on me.

Outside of one guy, I think the DT position has potential to be a decent unit.

Still short a 10-sack per season DE.

Mike, the Cowboys could field a women's volleyball team along the DL and it would grow on you.

@RicoSegovia75: @BryanBroaddus if needed who would be added to the 53 Coleman or Bishop?” Bishop.

@DenDPT: @BryanBroaddus @RicoSegovia75 Bishop outplaying Coleman or 1 vs 3 tech thing?” Coaches calls.

@JMikeG24: @BryanBroaddus Who you like most between Coleman and Bishop and which do you think will move up?” Bishop will be the one up.

@rpotente3: @BryanBroaddus if bishop moves up do you think he makes impact?” I know that the starters here hate to block him. Never stops

@RyanTrammel: What do you think Bishop's ceiling/potential down the road is?” Kid never stops. Like his chances to be really good in scheme

Bishop is my pet cat from the draft. He dominated the small college competition unlike anything I've seen at any level of competition.

I thought he was physically better than Hayden in training camp and in the snaps he played at the beginning of the season. He just needed to learn how to play in the NFL and in this scheme after coming from a tiny college.

bishop officially called up, jakar hamilton released.

Ya think? :D

I'll tell you, the safety position has NOT grown on me, for what it's worth.

You're bantering with a guy that said none of the guys on the Cowboys DLine (except DLaw) should be in the NFL. He also repeatedly mocked Marinelli and his coaching methods.

Since then the Cowboys went 12-4 in the regular season and have won a playoff game. That included winning some games, including the playoff game where the offense was stalled and the defense really had to setup up to keep them in the game. Marinelli has been widely praised by experts for coaching this defense to overachieve.

It appears that your optimism was significantly more accurate than anything that he has said.

Didn't know we'd get a six-sack season from Jeremy Mincey, so I'm pretty happy about that, and I'm glad that Spencer is coming on (and possibly Lawrence) ... but we still need to try to find a double-digit guy.
