If Mike wins a SB here he will be the first to do it with two teams. Stephen Jones, of all people, said something today that hit with me. He said that last year the offense peaked too early and than kind of flattened out. This year they are getting better and better since Dak’s return. The stats back it up over the past month.

My biggest hope is that we beat SF in the title game to face whomever in the SB. I want to shove it down SF’s throats.
Beating the forty whiners would be a beautiful thing

I get this but how will you feel if we go one and done in the playoffs again? I'll reserve my vote until after the playoffs. Don't get me wrong, he's doing a darn good job but let's be honest it's exactly what he should be doing.......no rewards for that. I won't say this team is built for a Super Bowl but it certainly has the talent for a deep playoffs run. In other words, one playoff win is the floor IMO. Let's do that and then talk rewards......
Coty voting is done after the regular season and does not include post season?

Broaddus has always been a McCarthy detractor but he's now done a 180 on him. Declaring him coach of the year and sure to return as head coach next year. He's earned that right.

"Nobody in the league has done their job better than this guy."

5 minute mark starts the conversation. Broaddus comes in at the 8 minute mark. Coach of the year talk at 11:40.

An interesting aside, according to Eatman the Cowboys were interested in drafting Jalen Hurts in the 2nd round (they took Diggs 2 picks before Hurts went to the Eagles) but not to replace Prescott but to "do some kind of hybrid thing". 14:10 mark.

The rest of the video is all Armbar. Breaking down the game as only she can as the preeminent analyst in the sport. Highly recommended.

One slip up… other than that she is like a football encyclopedia. I think Dan Quinn brings her in to consult on defense.
What happened to her?

She now looks my 60 year old maid on a bad day...

I'm surprised McCarthy is not being discussed by the national media for COTY. So many buried the team throughout the offseason and after week 1 and yet through all the injuries and lost players, the team is in position to make a run.

Rush deserves more credit that McGoofy.

He has a great defense to work with.

Many coaches have done more, with less.

Siriano? Everyone claiming we have an easy schedule, have you guys looked at the eagles schedule? After the off season the eagles were expected to be where they're at. Season aint over, something tells me the East Champ hasn't emerged yet

It was widely reported that the Cowboys were interested in Hurts to use in a Taysom Hill type role.

Get Dak over the hump and get to the nfc championship game then we can call him an upgrade from his predecessor... Who happens to have been a coty.

Going 4-1 with a backup QB and missing 5 starters on offense is no easy task.

Go ahead and name the other coaches that have done more with less.

He has the defensive player of the year...surrounded by a really good defense. I won't argue with you if u feel he deserves the credit for their record while Dak was out....but I just feel Rush deserves it.

I mean...the freaking Giants have far inferior talent than cowboys. Are u not way more surprised by their record than Dallas?

IDK.... but I don't think their record is higher than it should be based on the talent... and the Rush was the savior when dak was out, not McCoofy.

That said, I don't think he's done a poor job either. He's done a nice, solid day's work at the office! Nothing wrong with that!

Just like I don't think Siriani is coach of the year, despite their gaudy record. Their team is so immensely talented, I would think a lot of coaches would have a 10-1 record with that group of talent. Doug Pederson...there's another great job. I thought Trevor Lawrence was headed to colossal bust-city.... but Dougy P has really got him playing much, much better. THAT'S coaching

Easy to criticise Amber, but she is very good at what she does

Coach-of-the-Year award should go to a guy with at least one of these:
-Brilliant innovation on the offense or defense
-Top tier leader, motivator
-Otherworldly teacher

Mike doesn't get his hands dirty day-to-day with offense, defense or ST. Doesn't design schemes or call plays. Provides little hands on instruction. As for inspirational leader....uh....
Huh?

Jimmy delegated all three phases of the game to his coordinators, he did nothing innovative.

He was a very good motivator. But how do we know that Mike isn't? None of us see what happens behind closed doors. Just because he doesn't hoot and holler like Jimmy did in front of the cameras doesn't mean he's any less of a motivator than Jimmy was. We simply don't know.

What we do know is that this team plays hard for Mike. The job he did his first year here was incredible. Does this team make some boneheaded mistakes? Yep, way too many for my liking. But I don't see how that's on Mike. Maybe on the position coaches or we just have some stupid players.

I've liked the hiring from the day it was announced and I like it even more today. He was very fortunate to get such a great head coach with Jerry being the owner in my opinion.

Don't eat the cheese yet. Maybe if he wins the next 4 in a row it will be worth discussing.

Much like everything else in this country the bar is set pretty low if he's in contention for coach of the year.
