Broaddus on Kellen Moore

I like this name and it came out of the Broadus Voc convo show …. Rich Bisacchia GB ST coach former Raiders HC went 7-6 took over mid season he was ST coach in Dallas for awhile .

Seems like a players coach who knows where the bodies are buried and should be able to build a strong staff and command the locker room. Another plus for Jerry he wouldn’t be expensive but you never know with the right coordinators he can be a solid hire .

There are a lot of QBs who were bad leaders

Mike McCarthy has #1 offenses too, including being HC of the teams you reference that were #1

McCarthy has won 11 playoff games and a super bowl

I'm not even that anti Kellen Moore, I think hes a fine OC, but this is a very odd argument.
Aaron Rodgers won those games.

Lord, I hope it's not Moore and Zimmer. Although, that's exactly the type of move Jerry and Boy Wonder would make. Either way, Jerry will probably drag this out until SB week and then make an announcement, just so the Cowboys can stay in the news.
Same feeling.

My biggest concern about Moore is that he owes his alligence to Jones: he owes his playing and coaching careers to Jones.

I have a suspension Moore would be Jason Garrett re-do.
He will be and this is the real problem with Moore. Jones would essentially be the HC.

I know he’s talking about personality when he says “small male figure” but I do get a laugh at the idea that Aaron Glenn would be the epitome of a large male figure when he’s a couple inches shorter than Moore.

Assertiveness is probably a better descriptor. Glenn appears to be, Kellen does not.

Not really sure it matters. Plenty of coaches with a stronger first glance than either have failed.

I don't know that Aaron Glenn is the guy or if he is ready to be a head coach. What has he done exactly? His defense in Detroit is not that great. I think hiring Glenn as a HC is a big risk.

I understand what he is saying about Moore. You can see he is a bit of a wallflower. He is not going to assert himself and the players could walks all over him. But, his personality may work well with Jerry who does not want an assertive HC to challenge him.

Aaron Rodgers won those games.
And the Philly defense didn't win that game this past weekend? 10 points allowed and 4 forced turnovers, but you're giving the credit to Kellen Moores offense that didn't even rack up 300 yards? Bro there has to be some consistency in how we are evaluating these guys. If McCarthy doesnt get credit for his 11 playoff wins because of his QB was, Moore doesnt get credit because of who his defense is.

There were / are huge questions and concerns about his ability to lead.

There are / were questions about his ability to call plays with assertiveness.

Has not interviewed well

Not viewed at all as a leader by the panel

One compared him to a ball boy - small male figure too not a talker very quiet.

Doesn’t make sense - Deion does.

Broaddus says go get Aaron Glenn immediately.

The other guy said ….
He thinks it’s Moore & Zimmer.
My lawd
I agree with alot of this but I dont think it will be Aaron Glenn. There has not been a black head coach in Dallas and I really dont think this trend will change. I think Jones will go with Bill B as his top candidate on his wish list, maybe look at a college guy like a Steve S. and the fall backs will be Moore, Witten, and Zimmer as a collective group.

I think everyone gets this "vibe" from Kellen. He does not come off as a guy who can lead a locker room. I can't even imagine his postgame locker room speeches.

This franchise desperately needs assertive leadership, a serious jolt of energy. Shock and awe. That is why I am open to Deion.

That's fair....But with that being said....if given time....there is no doubt in my mind...he could put together a great staff....Problem is....In Dallas they expect instant results....The million dollar question is can Kellen put together a great coaching staff? My answer is....eventually...I think he can...but he's not walking through the door with a staff that's gonna blow the doors off the media. There is gonna be a lot of doubt until he proves he knows what he's doing....and that's gonna take some patience....Given time.....he could be the next Tom Landry....I believe in him....I've seen the complexity of his offense ....the problem in Dallas when he was here...he couldn't deploy his entire playbook....it was always someone's else's BS by committee. If Dallas truly wants KM....then they are gonna have to live with him....and let him be Kellen Moore....growing pains building a staff and all. But I think he can do it if given the fair chance.
This is one of the better arguments for Kellen Moore tbh. If Jerry is truly OK with another Jason Garrett type that will be learning on the job with a long leash then it could work out. Just trying to project what 3 years from now looks like and I could see Jerry starting to fade more into the background into his mid 80s, and the team may be looking for a fresh start rebuild as we close out the Dak extension along with decisions on guys like Lamb/Parsons/etc as they get closer to age 30, and Stephen Jones trying to put more of his finger print on the Cowboys than Jerrys. Tough to project that far out, but I could see almost any coach hired now being hired to be the fall guy in 2027/2028 without quick success in Dallas.

I agree with this.... People questioned could he be a good OC when he was promoted and he put up numbers and became a lil predictable but he was still growing and when you under another HC, you cant always be as creative as you want and I can that under Garrett and MM bc they are more traditionist offensively. I think Moore has an offensive mind and can still evolve. I agree with you when it comes to patience, give him 5 years. Let him get a chance to put together his own staff, we dont know what it looks like but we know Garrett and MM had their own staff decisions at one point and they had to adjust and MM didnt pick Quinn lol Jerry did after MMs failure with Nolan. No one knows who would be Moores choices which is a good thing. I think he could eventually have a good staff, I think it would be more veteran based earlier as he is trying to get acclimated esp on the defensive end but I think he could be a good pick if he gets a fair chance to deploy what his vision is. I remember that year when Kitna was the QB coach, Moore was the OC under Garrett, Dak was on a tear and throwing the ball with anticipation, making reads and Moore was doing alot of things he had done at Boise and it was shifts and motions then we sruggled against the Saints and Garrett shut him down... it was obvious to tell he was handcuffed. One of the Saints safeties said they studied Moores hand signals from Boise which lead them to knowing plays but thats the kind of offense we need, Kellen will learn to just change his signals and calls but thats the kind of creativity we need and he lead of of the most prolific offenses in college fb so he has experience.

And you believe that the players are men???

All they care about is being paid… they could care less about winning
That may be true.....may not. I don't know if they care about winning or not I Just know its a waste of time with guys like Moore. He will be one and done.
