Broaddus on the GameTape comments

IMO, Bass has been the best OL on the team. I don't understand why they leave Jag Hoffman out there at Center vs. Bass.

Fans haven't wanted to admit it, but Smith has been off all season. Not sure what's going on there.
when you see a player getting beat like that, you know they are injured.
Players that get lots of penalties are two things: either have no discipline or are getting beat and resort to them

exactly
Smith is not right; get him healed
Guyton I think can still make it as a legit LT but he has got to do better
agree about broadus and Guyton; Broadus has his pet cats and pet hates and he will never admit he is wrong
He definitely admitted being wrong about Javonte Williams.

He has admitted to be wrong many times when on the Draft show.
I used to listen to a bunch of the shows on the team site, but now I only watch the draft show when it is on and a rare PC.

Broaddus can be cranky and set in his ways, he does have players he likes or dislikes...that is true for most.

But he does admit mistakes, you just not have heard it.

Said Tyler Smith was worse than Guyton . And it might be time to shut Tyler Smith down until they find out what’s wrong with him.

Said it’s TIME to get a real right tackle and it’s time to get Steele off the field.

Said Schottenheimer had a real bad game - play calling -,the sideline passes were an awful idea.
Choosing to punt was was mind-boggling.

Said OSA was horrendous and has been outplayed by Thomas.

Said Javonte William had an awful game pass blocking.

Said the Cowboys should’ve signed Milton Williams as was being discussed he wound up with the Pats and is crushing it.

Said Sean Payton embarrassed us with his play calling and their playbook is deep.

Said they took away Jake Ferguson as their key to beating the Cowboys and that was it. Ferguson had a non-football afternoon.
All due to tremendous coaching.

Said any trade, the Cowboys make here on out has to be for the long-term and for next season and beyond.
Forget about this season.

The Denver linebackers are unbelievable, and we were ill prepared to handle them.

Said Booker had his worst game of the year.

Said this is not a number offense either - maybe in the upper echelon but not number one.

He said he has no idea Cason didn’t get a look at cornerback. The other guy chimed in that he was terrible last year.

And then they really laid in the hammer and now on the Cowboys drafting about how they could get away with not signing for agents because during the Garrett error, they actually drafted pretty well and into the McCarthy era.
The drafting has fallen off so bad that this is the end. Result of it bust after bust has now caught up with us plus not spending any money in free agency.

And we all know who the draft guru is in Dallas - Will McClay a total fraud.
Those are my words, not his.
Exactly how I saw it, hence why the lies PFF posts giving the Oline the grades that they did is an absolute joke. Our Oline stunk it up bad. Our best blocker on the Oline was Hoffman, followed by Steele. The other 3 were terrible.

Broadass still butt hurt over being canned. He’s been whining ever since. Him and Jesse Holley should have a their own podcast called “The *****in Bro’s”.

I'm still puzzled how the team reached on a interior offensive lineman at #12 after they reached for another lineman the previous year.

You got sucked believing anything Broaddus says.

Broaddus is all about clicks nowadays. Last week he almost got into it with Eagleton on the Break about trading two first round picks for Crosby because the Cowboys are wasting an all time great offense. Now the offense is only top 10.
Exactly.

I mean, he picked us to beat Denver before that game. He's consistently wrong about the team and its players.

People put all this faith in these "scouts" but nobody checks to see if their judgement is actually any good. Can you imagine a stock picker whose results showed he was below average but still hanging on his every word about where you should put your money?

You have to play the best 11 on each side of the ball .
Zeke over Pollard.. that was the final nail. The absolute signal to me that it will always be GM ego over winning.

And while I was mostly there over the 20 years, it that realization for me to "all in" on the idea that Jerry truly would rather lose his way than try to win.

If we ever even sniff winning with Jerry around, it will only be in spite of him. We will have lucked into.

McClay had a good draft this year

Will mcclay is the GM without the title. That dude needs fired .

In that case, you may as well shut down Lamb too - because Broaddus said he was not 100% either.

My own comment here not his. I thought Turpin had his worst game in two years. He was awful yesterday..
Turpin was horrendous yesterday.

This team has a massive depth problem. Sometimes you need your depth pieces to step up when there’s tough sledding for your stars.

Dallas’ depth almost never makes a play.

It's Steele's contract and/or Schotty insisting on continuity.
The contract would be my guess.

But if they’re definitely going to cut him - and I have to believe it is a foregone conclusion - then you may as well bench him to make sure there’s no injury issues after the season.

I can’t help but to think that’s the dance they’re doing with Diggs - the other guaranteed cut after this year.

May as well treat Steele the same.

I agree with all of this. One problem in Dallas is we think because some guy is picked by the Cowboys or signed by the Cowboys he is going to be better than there is any indication he will be. Take Elam, for example, when they acquired him some fans were saying he was a great addition because he was in the wrong system in Buffalo. But now we see he just sucks and coming to Dallas did not change that. I've heard Calen Carson was a steal. He sucks too. Eric Scott was going to be a star too. Nope.

Booker was a reach a 12 and he is playing like a reach. They should have gone with a defensive player. Harmon would help this defense. The Steelers, a defensive minded team, love him. We could have done well with any number of players over Booker. Tyler Warren would have been an upgrade over Booker. In the meantime, when TJ Bass was playing he had teh 2nd best pass rush blocking win rate among all OGs in the league. We have to play booker because he is a first round pick. We were deep at OG and thin on defense yet we wasted a pick on an OG.

Guyton is just okay. He doesn't get criticism because he is young, and he is not the worst on the offensive line. Steele was horrible Sunday.

They need to stop the criticism of their own players. The blew up their relationship with Parsons and before that they trashed Amari Cooper before they traded him. Saying this guy is bad or that guys is bad, when you picked him and you coached him is an indictment of YOU as much as it is of the player. Fans can do it, but the front office should not.

Stop expecting too much from rookies and players coming back from injury. Look at Williams. It took him 2 years to come back from his injury. But we expect Diggs,, for example, to come back and be like he was in less than a year. When Bland came back last year he was awful. He looks better this year. Although they don't throw his way because of the guys playing elsewhere are so bad. In any case, the expectations for Revel and Overshown are way too high with both coming off serious injuries.

The point about Milton Williams is the same point I made. He is better than Osa for a few million more. They had the opportunity to sign quality DTs two years in a row and didn't bother either time. They do not prioritize interior DL and it shows. Clark looks like he is over the hill or certainly on the downside after 10 years in the league. Jerry blaming Micah for bad run defense is a joke and I can't believe so many fans bought it. Our LBs are terrible, but when you watch how offenses get two offensive linemen downfield to take out the LBs on running plays you realize the defensive line is just so awful they can't even occupy offensive linemen long enough to let LBs flow to the ball. Mazi gets a lot of criticism here, and a lot of it is deserved, but in the Denver game he was the only guy I saw holding ups his blockers and trying to take two away from the play. He is not perfect by any means, but it is an indictment of the rest of the DL.

This poor defense is the culmination of years of bad decisions by this front office when it comes to personnel.
