Fragel
Only 1yr RT experience was a TE up until his senior season so he's looked as a developmental guy. Not the typical power run blocker. More finesse.

While Armstead comes from a smaller school he has been playing the position and it's considered all he needs his some technical refinement to his game and he was exceptional in post season games.

Thats why I said 5th round pick for Fragel and sign winston. Winston will give Fragel the two years to develop.

Also he did a great job stepping in at RT playing against big 10 players

Not sure where Fragel is going to go. I'd say mid-rounds but someone may take him in the low second or in the third. I don't know how much this guy needs to be developed. He doesn't have a lot of time in the saddle as an OT but he's got all the rest. I'm looking for someone to come in and start or at least be a swing tackle. Everything depends on what they think of Free and Parnell.

I agree, only problem IMO there are only three OTs day one ready. I say you draft Fragel late and sign Winston. I do not trust Fragel as a day one starter or swing OT, I will keep Parnell for that. When Winston is done Fragel or Parnell should be ready.

Maybe a reason to wait till after the draft, is they have a few tackles that they would RATHER have than Winston, Smith, ect. Say Lane Johnson. And they don't feel they have the cap space to sign Winston and have him as a backup to say Lane Johnson if they are able to draft Lane Johnson.

My initial guess, and I certainly don't claim to be a guru on any of the prospects, just going off what people are saying. Maybe they view it as having 3 or 4 scenarios, that they are happy with in varying order of preference, with these being the possible scenarios in order of preference:
#1.) Draft Lane Johnson and let Parnell be the backup tackle
#2.) Draft Terron Armstead and let him and Parnell battle it out for the starting job.
#3.) Sign Eric Winston and let him be the short term solution at RT.
#4.) Stick with what they have and let Parnell and Free battle it out for the starting job.
I pick #2-- T. Armstead, He could be used as blocking TE, even take a swing pass from TE position--I saw it in one of his games, possibly FB and short ydg back. Very versatile

I think if we go oline in the first that means we release free and start Parnell and sign a low level rt to back him up. I think broaddus means if we can't get one of the top guards or fluker early then we go after Winston to cut free loose.

I think Dallas waits til OTA's to determine what they do with Free. They may try and get him to take a massive pay cut.

I would love to sign Winston and draft Reid Fragel or David Quessenberry late. Winston can start for the next two years and Parnell or Fragel/Quessenberry should be ready to step in and start.

I'm a big Fragel fan. For some reason Armstead got all the hupe after the draft because of his 40. Fragel ran a good 40, better bench press numbers, netter or close 20 yard shuttle and 3 cone drill.

Fragel in the 4th will ne a still.

A man after my own heart. I have Fragel as my 4th round name to yell at the TV while the Cowboys take a small school special teams ace.

Their rankings aren't reliable at all. They're overly simplified formulas which sometimes create bizarre results that could be easily fixed. They don't really care to fix them, though.

Well, both PFF and the opinions of MB fans are unreliable. This is just a case of not knowing which could possibly be less accurate. But, I agree, that the PFF methodology is a joke.

Yesterday, I listened to Brian Broaddus on "Talking Cowboys" that they might have serious interest in Eric Winston as a RT for the line if things go badly in the draft. IMVHO, I think the boys will try and acquire some additional OL help when vet prices and demand falls after the draft. Just like last year.

That goes double if, as expected, Free is released after June 1st for cap savings.
He had a large number of penalties last year. That sounds like Free--not good.

Free was one of the worst rated Tackles in Pro football last year. Almost anyone would be an upgrade, including Parnell. I think Winston or Clabo would be an extreme upgrade over Free and worth the money we would invest for 2 or 3 years. If we could swing Brandon Moore in the next few weeks, that would go way down the path of fixing this line for a "dance" run this year or next...IMVHO
