Moore Is probably as good as most of the rejects left out there to get.

I agree, Kellen Moore is the likely choice now and the OC likes him too. Probably a done deal unless someone just
begs to come to the Cowboys for chump change.

So, now here are the choices:

Matt Schaub
Jimmy Clausen
Josh Johnson
Dan Orlovsky
T.J. Yates
Charlie Whitehurst
Matt Moore
Luke McCown
Matt Flynn
Bruce Gradkowski
Michael Vick
Kellen Clemens
Tarvaris Jackson

Well that inspires confidence...

I think everyone is missing the grand plan here. People ask, "if we don't draft a QB this year, when will we ever be drafting at #4 again?" Well, Kellen Moore as the backup is your answer. This way we can still squeeze through the Romo window by drafting defense, BUT - if he gets hurt again, it's a guaranteed top five pick. Best of both worlds.

Let's have a little respect here.

If Kellen Freaking Moore was the answer, Jerry isn't spending the last month talking about how we need to upgrade the QB position.

My guess is once again, the Cowboys surveyed the landscape, got their tighties in a bunch over some of the prices for backups and is now in spin control.

I'll say it again............. this organization is so afraid of the days when they got burned by bad contracts they are now completely paralyzed when it comes to free agency. They'll only touch unwanted, underpriced vets because it's an easy and cheap negotiation.

Oh and let's not forget that the starting QB is one hit from being out for possibly his career at this point.

So LOL again at then trying to sell Kellen Moore as the solution to one of our biggest concerns.

Moore makes me nervous. He stares his WR's down. Every time he drops back, he's a pick-6 waiting to happen. But with what's left, I'd let Moore and Cassel compete for back-up QB in camp and draft a QB high. As negative as this sounds, we're not winning a SB with Romo anyway. Until they fix the D, and it has MANY needs, it's just a pipe dream. Romo will be gone by then.....

Moore was 0-2 as the starter and neither game was close. The Cowboys better come up with an offense that isn't so geared to Romo or no backup QB is going to have much success. The team was 1-11 with 3 backup QBs in 2015 that points to an issue that goes beyond the QBs.

Depends when Romo gets hurt. He gets hurt around game 10 or so (say with a 7-3 record) then if our backup QB is as bad as some think he will be, we will end up with a 7-9 record, maybe 8-8. Not a good place to draft a great potential QB next year.

The least painful route is to draft a QB at #4 this year while with Romo we are still competitive. Then if he stays healthy we have a smooth transition in a couple years. If not, we already have our future in place to start getting otj training.

If Moore is Romos backup then Jerry is not serious about winning.

Unless the plan all along is to draft QB at #4. While that QB will be too green to be very competitive, he would be much better than Moore or any other backup we could get now.

If you followed the thread, I was referring specifically to Dallas and not any of the other 31 teams.

There are indeed many ways to win, but the history in Dallas over the last 20+ years has shown that the team is especially sensitive to the play of the QB.

And the irony of you bringing up Manning and the Broncos its that the very architect of the defense that propelled them to their SB win was the very same man who couldn't manage the same here even though he had at one point 8 former 1st round draft picks on his defense.

It's been almost 20 years since we have won anything, maybe it's time we try something different

It's all good guys. Nick Eatman just reported that Matt Moore is scheduled to visit. You all remember him right?

Apparently, we're going to corner the market on quarterbacks named Moore and tear up this league!

Lol... Jerry has everyone fooled including his own fans. Goff or Wentz will come off of the board at #4. BOOK IT!

It will be another team making the pick I anticipate Jerry trading down.

Well as long as that something different includes a quality QB drafted this year then why not?

Im not against drafting a QB. I am however against drafting a QB just to draft him. Stick to the board and pick best available. If Wentz is the best draft him, if Ramsey is the best draft him, if you get a great offer to trade down and want Elliott then do it.

This team can use any position. I want to build an elite defense. I'm not the owner and I don't make the decisions. They feel Romo can play 4-5 more years, don't matter what I think. I don't see them using the number 4 pick on a QB when the value (in my opinion) isn't there.

Personally I rather trade back and pick up some extra picks and take Rankins, Billings etc. Then make a small trade up back into the first round and draft Lynch. I feel development wise lynch will be the best of all the QBs. That still gives you a 2nd pick for a RB, DB, WR, LB
