Broaddus: Starting to look like coaches plan on Kellen Moore as #2 QB

What's Peyton Manning got to do with the Cowboys (other than beating them)?

Did you not say you have to have quality QB to do anything? Peyton didn't play well at all but with defense and running game won a championship.

There isn't a one set way to win

So tell me the backup quarterback out there who can take a team to the Super Bowl.

LOL, there are 10-15 quarterbacks in the world worth a crap. The rest are Colt McCoy.

I don't think Colt McCoy nor Chase Daniel can. TRomo hasn't even done that yet.

How much could Colt McCoy possibly cost? And no way he wouldn't want to come here on a discount. If you're gonna be a backup, might as well be one for the best and most popular franchise in sports. I mean unless someone throws him a ridiculous contract (unlikely), I don't see why we don't sign him.

Of course McCoy and Daniel can't. The vast majority of quarterbacks in the NFL are awful.

What does it matter who the backup is when this staff can't win with anything less than a superstar at the QB position. It is Romo or bust for us.

You know until the defense is fixed... that pretty much is true.

All this griping about Moore (or whomever) being the backup– it's all "chair-rearranging on the Titanic".

The defense needs to be much better.

With this staff we need the 85 Bears defense to win with a backup QB.

Chase Daniel and Colt McCoy are intriguing. But I'm not convinced either one of them are better than Kellen.

If you followed the thread, I was referring specifically to Dallas and not any of the other 31 teams.

There are indeed many ways to win, but the history in Dallas over the last 20+ years has shown that the team is especially sensitive to the play of the QB.

And the irony of you bringing up Manning and the Broncos its that the very architect of the defense that propelled them to their SB win was the very same man who couldn't manage the same here even though he had at one point 8 former 1st round draft picks on his defense.

So, now here are the choices:

Matt Schaub
Jimmy Clausen
Josh Johnson
Dan Orlovsky
T.J. Yates
Charlie Whitehurst
Matt Moore
Luke McCown
Matt Flynn
Bruce Gradkowski
Michael Vick
Kellen Clemens
Tarvaris Jackson
