Broaddus thinks our starting RB will be Ingram or draft pick

Ingram is 30 and on the downside of his career after averaging 4.6 yards per carry after 8 years for the Saints.
It's all downhill for him from here on out. Give me a young stud RB out of the draft and let him blossom with us. Just imagine what an up-and-coming Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon or even Ryan Williams might do instead and don't bother to look back. Brian Broaddus is simply demonstrating why he's no longer a scout with stuff like that.

I actually enjoy a lot of his input, but for the record, last year he was completely certain that Jerry would take Manziel if he dropped to 16.
Just sayin

Ingram was born December 21, 1989.

Sure you don't have him confused with Pierre Thomas who the Saints just released?

He's 26 I think.

I goofed, you're correct, sir.

Yes, guess I did at that. Looked it up on Wikipedia and got Pierre's birth date instead on the following graph. Thanks for the correction.

Eh, I screw those things up all the time.

He actually won't be 26 until late in the season (Dec. 21).

Your absolutely correct. I'd still rather get a young stud at RB rather than Ingram, though. He's good but not quite what I'd like to see replacing someone like Murray. The FO may have their own ideas on that though. We'll see.

If Gurley was a definite to be ready by TC, then he is a no-brainer. But, that's the question - will be be ready? He's the ONLY rookie I would trust from Day 1.....even if I'm honestly not sure if ANY rookie can come in and do all the things Murray does.

If Gurley shows satisfactory progress in his rehabilitation, I wouldn't have any objection if the C'boys got him and elected to use Ryan Williams until such time as Gurley was fully ready to participate. It's not like they have no other options than to throw Gurley in before he has fully recovered. I can't help but believe he'd be well worth the wait. The only thing that gives me pause is whether or not Randle will still be around as well. We'd better have at least a few RBs capable of holding down the fort until Gurley's health could be assured.
