I doubt Tyron is getting all that physical with him.

I'd bet OL and DL were reminded to be cognizant of how much they really mix it up after Lee went down.

Not saying it was Martin's fault but the play looked bad from a contact standpoint and that's probably enough for the staff to remind the players these are just OTAs and that everyone needs to be available for camp.

In the midst of all of the negativity regarding our DL, how come no one is mentioning how good DLaw is looking? Some will say that it is the underwear Olympics but in pass rush situations you can still get a good look at who is doing well and who is stinking it up. Plus without pads, DLaw really cannot bullrush so all of his moves have to be speed related type moves. So he is not only doing more than holding his own against Tyron but he is doing so with a 1/4 less of his pass rushing repertoire.

A DL of Selvie, Hanks, McClain, and DLaw with a steady rotation of capable big and hungry young players playing 15 to 20 snaps with their hair on fire is going to shock the hell out of people. If DLaw can be the table setter that I think he will be, look out because we are going to beat the hell out of teams.
which high schools you talkin' about, Willis?

Oh, the off-season. Guys running around in non-contact drills, will no pads on, and we're already getting out the anointing oil. Until he does something in a game, I don't really care what he's doing in practice.

True and the one has to he able to make contact to do their job. Most high school kids would look good in these no contact drills.

It's not a case of DLaw looking good... It's a case of Tryon has suddenly lost his game. :D
That's the other thing that the so called realist would say. :) That our prow bowl LT who gave up less than 4 sacks has lost his game. The glass is either half empty or full I guess it depends it you are the one doing the pouring or drinking. :)

Let me save everyone some time .. Here are the default fan reactions .. :D

Optimist: "We have DeMarcus Ware 2.0 on the team!"

Pessimist: "Tyron has declined so quickly."

Realist: "Not wearing pads so it means nothing!"

Agenda-ist: "He must be on the Romo diet plan."

Troll-ist: "DLaw would have gone undrafted had the Cowboys not drafted him."

Humorist: "Underwear Olympics" .. enough said :)

That just about sums up the little slice of heaven, lol.

I know football can be a challenging subject for some to understand as indicative by the quoted post.

After last season, I was really worried about our DL this season. DL is still my primary concern for our team until they play together when the real bullets start flying but everything that I have seen so far is pointing up for the unit. Don't worry if you don't see it now, my mother, my sisters and wife don't see it either. However, you will, like they will and you do, you can thank me then.

Your comments are foolish if you think DL and OL don't compete hard in the so called non-contact drills and your comments are really ignorant if you think there aren't any contact in the non-contact drills. Non-contact is basically everything except tackling for the DL.

It does make you wonder though when all the OTA/TC reports last year were that Tyron couldn't even touch D-Ware, and we know how that worked out.

But I wouldn't be at all surprised if DLaw turns out to be a very good player.

I can tell that you never done anything remotely athletic outside of straining across a gaming buddy for the second controller....smh

You need to be drug tested.

You must not understand oline play. It's very nature is based on physical contact with a combination of speed and technique. How can a olineman show anything when the physical element of his game is taken away? He can't. Anybody he faces should look good when his hands are tied. The trenches are positions that require contact to get any kind of a judgement on their play.

I must of missed those reports. I recall both battling but I don't recall it was one sided in favor of Ware.

When I go and re-watch DLaw's combine and highlights videos, it is scary how good the kid is with his hands and how fluid an athlete he is. He is a big guy that has the natural athleticism of a little guy. Watch how he gets around the corner, how quick he gets off the ground during the combine drills, etc....The kid is very fluid, plays with a very high motor, and still manages to play with a lot of pop.

I played every position on the line over a period of many years. I then coached the oline for several years. If you think you can judge any player on the OL or DL without pads and contact, you know nothing about line play. By the way, I have never played a video game of any kind on a TV.
